Failure to get a ring and yet being a top 5 player in the league.....Shoe contract incentives.....Weather and lifestyle.....Organization that pulls in vet mins easier than others because "hey, it's LA" ....Lucrative endorsement deals .

If you don't think these things factor in and weigh more and more into a player's decisions, especially when they start approaching that potentially "last" big deal. Well they do. You could have said the same things about AD a few years ago. If Giannis can keep the Bucks knocking on that championship door he may very well hold out there. But there are a lot of things to think about that factor into staying in Wisconsin.

Part of me crazy for thinking why not give Melo a camp invite? Maybe LeBron has reached out but not interested?

Just thinking if he shows up and puts in work why not give him a non GTD contract and give him the boot IF Iggy becomes available eventually. Seems like it's a 0 risk-decent reward deal.

I think he falls in the category of “addition by subtraction”

Houston just cut him and didn’t look back. Must be a reason.

he's done. he can't play how he wants and have his team be effective. hopefully, he'll just retire. he's like kobe--no way he was going to let his game age gracefully like grant hill or vince carter did. that's ok. even andre iguodala really struggled with being relegated to a bench player as he started exiting his prime, so it's not like everyone adjusts easily to that.

but to be clear: do not want under any circumstances.

Melo is done. Nobody wanted the guy. He was available to every team in the NBA for last year's playoff push/run. Not one team took a flier on him, and that was when he had been out of basketball for only a couple months. He's even further removed now. I'm afraid we've seen the last of Melo. I mean, we gave Alex Caruso a guaranteed two-year deal and didn't offer Melo anything. That's with one of his best friends (who happens to be Shadow-GM) on the team.

I like it though, if only because he’s 6’11 and long, and we lack that on this team, nice to have another big even if he isn’t great. It’s 6 fouls on reserve.

s*** is so annoying. Can we just focus on the next couple of seasons without obsessing over the next big FA like we did with Kawhi?
