I think Moe will surprise once he's healthy against other teams' bench players. Has a lot of skills and is not a small dude.

Better passer, perimeter defender, more hustle, higher BBIQ. BUUUUUUUT, that's all dependent on actually staying on the court.

Signing Noah would give you a reason to keep your signature. :Fishwink:

Noah was all star level once. In the fight for defensive player of the year for a stretch of time. He’s not the same player, but hard to top his knowledge and experience for a 15th man.

Having Zu go up against both he and McGee in practice will only make him better. Is he better right now? I’m not sure anybody really knows the answer to that question since he has missed so much time

Sure. But, I mean how is he better than Zubac now? He obviously used to be better, but he can’t really play. His talents for passing and defending are useless when he is sitting on the bench. In a suit.

Agree. Williams was very active. Hopefully he gets assigned to the Defenders.

    No s***?!?

If this prolongs, could we see Wiggins/KAT on the block instead?

Not a great situation up there right now

Respect is an interesting things in sports. You know you’re the best player on the team, but despite playing hurt, management isn’t sure they want to pay you big bucks.

But they fell all over themselves giving max extensions to gifted yet underperforming young guys.

I’m ok with a western conference foe imploding though

The big mistake was paying Wiggins. That kid is garbage. I understand being upset with that kid's paycheck when they wont pay you a max deal.

Wiggins garbage? He's overpaid. Not the franchise player the Wolves thought he'd be, but he's far from being garbage.

To me, he's 6th man material on a contender.

This. Empty stats and a .02 cent brain. He's a nice kid, but they gave him the Brinks truck. I'd rather spend that money on Butler.

I’m not so sure. Zubac is called trash by many, and he’s not paid squat for NBA centers.

I can understand calling him overpaid, but in no world is he trash.

    https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/wiggian01.html

For his career, he is averaging 19.7 points per game. His rebounds are low, and his defense might be atrocious, but I think you can only say part of his game is trash.

Not even the Timberwolves would give a trash player a max or near max contract.

Not meeting performance expectations in relation to your draft status or your pay level does not automatically equal trash IMHO

The dude is only 23 years old and has averaged almost 20 points per game after being drafted as a teenager.

I would just like to point out how small this brain actually is. It is 1/50th of a cent.

    i LOL'd.

wiggins' attitude troubles me. he should be a better defender with his physical gifts, but by most accounts he doesn't seem to care enough.

i'm not sure what minny could do, contractually. they can't use that space on anyone because nobody has ever wanted to play there, so they're forced into overpaying, imo. i suppose that if the warning signs were there, they could have traded him prior to the extension and gotten some value, but they'd have gotten roasted in the press at that time--remember: people thought he was headed for superstardom like, 18 months ago.

I think Butler basically wanted them to trade him out. That may have been impossible, but we never even sniffed rumors that Wiggins would be on the block at all.

I'm not saying he's not talented, because he clearly is. I'm just saying the kid isn't serious about winning basketball and I think that much is actually pretty clear.

I haven’t watched him close enough to speak to real specific things, but it would seem to be that he is not an alpha player.

So if he has star quality, and it appears he is happy being a B Star. If KAT is wired the same way, then you really need a guy like Jimmy Butler to light a fire under their collective arses.

For management not to see that and address it appropriately is really on them. Every potential contender needs stars who are willing to play a role or take a backseat from time to time. Wiggins may never thrive in the role of the third option, but I’m not sure that makes him trash.

His PPG dropped with Butler around, so that is playing into the perception of decreased value. But if he doesn’t find a way to succeed as a secondary star, then he is massively overpaid. He’s obviously not the alpha dog there.

What the cLips do will be interesting, cause they have 17 on the roster and 2 nonguarteed deals. However, Beverley is one of them and if they want to keep him, they will need to make a trade or they will be forced to trade him in a roster clearing move to get some value in return for him.

Lakers have a roster spot and having Beverley as Zo's teammate (although I prefer Noah or Bynum with the 15th)...now wouldn't that be interesting to add to the #SmashMob?

    Stay tuned...

Also the Knicks and the Zinger didn't agree to an extension yet. Seeing how KD is rumored to be a target of theirs, it will be interesting how they and how Zinger will approach his restricted free agency next summer.
