God this couldn't be more true.

Would be great to get Klay and Cousins over the summer somehow...but I suspect someone will throw a nice contract at Boogie this summer..he's not taking $5M again likely.

Instead of signing anybody I'd prefer the front office to resign.

Kemba is more clutch and easier to get along with. Jimmy is cranky and we have enough issues with team morale

No Butler. No, no, no. The guy is proving to be a headcase.

walker. but both are likely to look pretty bad in those last two years of the deal, which will coincide with lebron's decline. i'd rather get some younger players, if possible.

I read somewhere that Kemba Walker was the fourth best spot up shooter in the league, so that seems like a more of these fit in another small forward/shooting guard

I would imagine that would mean that Lonzo ball was gone though

Tons of B+ free agents this summer if we whiff on the top tier K's. Hopefully the B+ guys can be had for B+ $$. If AD is available next summer, trade the B+ guys no problem.

the only problem with this approach is that it requires executives that know how to put together a roster, and I'm not sure we have those guys in place.

they can sign talent, but will it fit?

trouble is that when the market is flush with cash (like this one), B+ or even B- guys tend to get A+ dollars. you can't be one of those teams.

I'm not paying Kemba 30 million per for 4 years. Not a chance in hell.

I think folks have to anticipate 1+1 deals this summer. This doesn't just go for Kemba...Kawhi, Kyrie, Klay and Butler are all 9 year vets next season, so they will only be eligible for a 30%max this summer (32.7m). However the following summer (2020), they will be entering their 10th season and will be eligible for a 35%max (41.3m).

So if all these dudes remain healthy, they are most likely to sign 1 year deals this summer and this will allow them to see how well they play with Bron. If it don't work, they opt out and leave the summer of 2020 and if we haven't traded for AD by then, he just walks into that cap space that summer.

Essentially we do get a 1yr window to see how this looks next year.
