Some injuries just random as always but the accelerated pace players play at in the league now could be playing a part. Training camp a week shorter? Well they could always start it a week sooner while still limiting the back to backs.
The same players always get injured season after season for the most part ... style of play , too fragile , not taking good care of their body , take your pick . This is all .
Pat Riley always liked to have his Showtime squads play a 10 man rotation in order to prevent injuries. For example, the 1984-1985 Showtime squad only had 3 players who averaged more than 30 minutes a game. Magic was the highest at 36 minutes per game. Worthy and Kareem averaged 33 minutes per game. Everybody else averaged under 30 minutes per game. The big problem with playing a 10 man rotation is the lack of talent. With 30 teams, there's only so much talent to fill the spots. There were only 23 teams back in 1984-1985.
pretty surprised he's coming back for another season considering the mavs are going through a rebuild
^The Mavs signed him to a two-year contract. He's honoring the contract. What he does afterwards is anybody's guess.
Man the East playoffs are gonna suuuuuuuck. But then that’s true every year except for the occasional fluke like Bulls/C Bags last season.
