Heeney, Cowser and an unsigned Riley is what we got...the only position that has me worried going into camp

More details emerging in the Conley case:
He admits to having sex with the woman.
    He says it was consensual.
There is video of them leaving the bar together, holding hands.

There's no good outcome to this - at least in the short term.

Heeney all but disappeared... Cowser was initially fine then got overwhelmed. Riley held it together but is a stopgap though I see him coming back. Lee looks to have potential. Questions about his cover skills but can't be any worse than Malcolm Smith.

Heeney was out last season with an injury. I can't remember what it was, but he was out as of October.

In more positive news, Osemele is named to the top 100 NFL players for the season. He checks in at #95

    Here's the first official profile:

    ROUND ONE / SELECTION 24
    24. Gareon Conley – CB, Ohio State

    6', 195 pounds (Combine)
    Current Status: *** (Possible Starter)
    Potential: ****? (Above Average Starter)
    Plus/Minus: Plus Coverage
    Stats (Sports-Reference.com):
Played with some talented defenders at Ohio State, racking up 66 solo tackles, 1 FTL, 0.5 sacks, and 6 INTs. He also defended 15 passes.

What he is: A ballhawk on defense with good speed and good coverage ability. He’s not a great player to come up and punish runners, but he has a shot to grab a starting CB position at some point this season.

What he could be: He’s a potential Pro Bowler, but more than likely he makes a steady career as an above average defender. Not as lockdown as Asomugha was, but if Oakland’s defensive line has a solid push, QBs will struggle to throw his way.

    ROUND TWO / SELECTION 56
    56. Obi Melifonwu – S, Connecticut
    6’4, 224 pounds (Combine)
    Current Status: *** (Could Start)
    Potential: ****? (Borderline Pro Bowler)
Plus/Minus: Plus Athlete, Plus Tackler, Minus Route Recognition
    Stats (Sports-Reference.com):
Steady improvement throughout career: culminating in 221 solo tackles (73 as Senior), 11.0 for loss (2.5 as Senior), 8 INTs (4 as Senior), 16 passes defended (3 as Senior), 2 Fumble Recovers (1 as Senior), and 2 Forced Fumbles.

What he is: An exceptional athlete with good versatility (FS, SS, maybe CB) who plays fast despite slower recognition skills. May have to tackle lower in the NFL to stay as effective as he was in college. May take a season to deal with the skill level of the NFL.

What he could be: With some seasoning, Melifonwu might be better than Conley, and while he may give up some TDs in the NFL, he’s likely to make a lot more than he surrenders. He could be a starter for years to come.

Heath Evans on NFL-TV "Total Access" gave us a B+ liking both for depth... Cynic in me was surprised. A for KC, B- for the Donks and B for the Chargers.

Derek Carr, Raiders close to a huge contract that'll pay the young quarterback 25 million a year.

With the sad news about D'Angelo being traded this should at least give the Lakers/Raider fans something to be happy about.

Carr is a great young quarterback. Raiders are in position to be a Super Bowl contender for several years to come and it all starts with that quarterback.

Carr ordered his agent to ensure that it is team friendly structured so that the organization can afford other important players or free agents. Mack and Gabe Jackson are looming.

In other news...Prescott was named very high on the NFL Top 100 List ahead of luminaries such as Brees and Rothlisberger raising eyebrows. I don't see the big deal as he kept the ship steady for Dallas.
