I don't like spending money except for coffee, alcohol, and books. Does that change the situation? :)

Davis should have chased the Austin/San Antonio Corridor way more money to make there...

...it was unfortunately inevitable. I wanted them to stay as the franchise IS Oakland. Sad for the local fans. Been to a few games there. The Coliseum is a dump but the atmosphere and the fans? Nothing like it. 2017 season will be weird.

if Oakland 'evicts' the Raiders, the mayor of San Diego said that we can play there til the new stadium is built

How nice of the mayor. You can play in our empty piece of crap so we can make some money for the next 3 years.

Is there actually noise Oakland would evict them?

If they had to move I wanted either LA or Vegas. I had no interest in the Texas Raiders personally. Although, I would of supported them wherever they wound up. In the end, Oakland didn't have the money or full interest to build a new stadium if they did and Mark still pushed to move then I could see the gripe. Going to Vegas won't hurt the brand at all IMO in fact it will probably make for more exciting games being fans from both markets (LA and Oak) will travel.

As far as the tweet about eviction. I think that is just a councilman trying his best to cover the city's *** for losing the team.

Texas would have made the most sense financially by a long shot. There is a stretch if interstate between Austin and San Antonio that is booming. You could build a new stadium there and get BOTH audiences from 2 top 12 US cities. They could have also moved out immediately as the Alamodome is available. SA has a wonderful fan base who even has the right colors already and Austin is a corporate dream. You also lose state income tax. I know Jerry would have caught against them, but Texas could support three teams and the Raiders could have made a lucrative long term life there.

As for supporting the move. I like most other would prefer the team in Oakland, but both the city of Oakland and in general the state of California are a mess financially. They really had no choice outside of LA, which isn't going to support football for long. LV is a bad move though. It sure seems good up front, but I am not sure they have the cooperate and populace support it's gonna take to keep them there long term. I could be wrong though. Either way I will always be a raiders fan no matter where they play. They are allowed to be vagabonds

Jerry has always been one of the Raiders biggest allies since I can remember. He also has as much pull as any owner in the league when it comes this sort of thing. Many writers have commented that if Jerry really wants something to happen, it's going to happen. It's why the Texas Raiders never seemed like a realistic scenario to me. You're right as far as Texas being the best place for them, but there is no way Jerry was going to allow a new team into his backyard.

Zach Brown...1 year at 4.5 with Washington, $500K guaranteed. McKenzie couldn't spare that? I guess we'll be drafting a linebacker.

I think the other reality is that Al was really hated by a lot of the owners and they are now taking it out on Mark. The only reason they are getting out of Oakland is it really is that bad of a situation that would have affected the rest of the league for years to come. If the Raiders were is a decent situation they would have left them there to struggle. Which is really exactly what is going on now. I hope I am wrong, but LV might turn out to be one of those small markets that its really hard to succeed in.
