He could have seriously hurt curry. That's his shooting arm, and if that's even slightly hurt, there goes his career.
Sacramento Kings center and lowlights regular DeMarcus Cousins unleashes a profanity-laced tirade at a Sacramento Bee reporter in the locker room after the writer mentioned his brother in a recent column. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/video/demarcus-cousins-unleashes-profanities-reporter-045645509.html
The NBA's 3 ring circus is at it again. http://nba.nbcsports.com/2016/12/19...r-game/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs&yptr=yahoo Report: Kings’ Arron Afflalo refused to enter game The Kings have a problem with a player. No, not DeMarcus Cousins, who’s beefing with the media and lowering his trade value. This player is squabbling with Sacramento coach Dave Joerger. No, not Omri Casspi, who has expressed his dissatisfaction with communication. I’m talking about Arron Afflalo, who fell from the starting lineup to not even entering games. After a pair of DNP-CDs, Afflalo apparently wasn’t pleased with a small role. ✔@CarmichaelDave Worth following: according to league sources, Aaron Afflalo was slow to enter the game in Utah, declined to enter in Houston. Stay tuned. ✔@CarmichaelDave Got a lot of questions about Afflalo lately, seems to be a situation that's been brewing on the downlow. Can't imagine Coach wasn't perturbed. ✔@CarmichaelDave Through just over 1/4 of the season, Joerger has had some challenges other than on-court play. By my count 6 different players with issues. Circumstantial evidence supports this report. Afflalo didn’t enter the Jazz game until garbage time, and teammate Anthony Tolliver subbed first at the stoppage. There was a delay and seemingly some confusion from the official before Afflalo hit the court: Afflalo left the Knicks after they reduced his role, and Sacramento offered more money and seemingly more playing time. He just didn’t realize the cost of selling his soul to basketball hell. Unfortunately for Afflalo, he hasn’t separate himself from the Kings’ other underwhelming options at shooting guard. In his 10th pro season, he might be too proud to willingly accept a fringe-rotation role, but his play doesn’t demand more.
Man. Some days I feel like Boogie isn't worth the trouble and he's too much of a headcase. Then I remember where he plays and I see reports of veterans like Afflalo (long considered a standup vet) and Gay who are acting out as well... I just don't know.
Cow town is run worse than Philly. I bet vets like Nash, Fish, Duncan etc. would snap playing in Kings jersey...
The main pb with Boogie is he's delusional . He still thinks he's right and there is some sort of conspiracy going on against him instead of admitting his flaws and trying to get better . You go NOWHERE with this mentality . Let's not forget he's a 46 % shooter from the field in his career too . Sure he's been playing with poor supporting casts but it's still not good for a guy of his size and talent .
I don't disagree at all. I think he's at least partly responsible for the horrible structure of the Kings. I do however think if he were to go to a better team with a better infrastructure, he'd do much better. I just don't know how long it'd last and I don't know if I want to be the team that tries to fix him or not.
not sure what kind of culture can withstand cousins' personality issues. his talent level is insane, too, though.
Miami, San Antonio... basically anywhere with a respectable coach. I mean Boogie does fine in the Olympics and the coaches of those teams generally like him a lot. I feel like the situation in Sacramento is so bad that it all becomes a self-perpetuating issue that just doubles down on itself every week or so.
maybe...i also think that organizations like SA tend to steer clear of guys like cousins. SA had a dalliance with sjax, but that ended quickly.
Oh I agree. Sometimes there's too much there. I don't know if Cousins can be redeemed in all honesty and if I were a GM, I'd be terrified of making that investment.
Cousins is not worth the risk. Bad environment is only so much of an excuse. Cousins has proven many times that he is talented but cannot control his emotions, get along with coaches and keep his mouth shut in the media. In other words...Cousins isn't a player that can create a winning culture. Some might say thats the coaches job but if your best player isn't on board, there is only so much a coach can do.
I have no idea. I think its a combination of the following a) they tend to win, so the environment is better by default b) there are many players at his level or above so that he doesn't look down to them and respects them d) the olympics doesn't last long enough probably to get comfortable e) there are many distractions / attractions for Athletes in the olympic village f) its a big responsibility to represent your country I don't think Cousins is a bad guy. He isn't a psycho or anything. He just doesn't have the ability to be diplomatic, control his emotions and he doesn't seem to handle authority too well. If the coach tends to be authoritarian, Cousins doesn't handle that too well.
