the salary cap at the time prevented them from paying 4 max deals. Those 3 guys, and when it came down to Ibaka and Har'en, they chose the big.

It was the right choice at the time, and paying 3 maxes was always unsustainable for them anyways.

I'm not sure I follow. They had everyone's bird rights, and this was before the CBA made cap violations even more punitive. Meanwhile, Harden was their #3 pick, with sky-high potential.

my memory might deceive me, but for some reason it stuck with me it wasn't possible. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.

There was some provision that made it so that harden could sign a bigger extension elsewhere, iirc.

But it was possible to keep all.

I do think it was going to be oppressively expensive for OKC, so you're def right about that. But it was ultimately the cheapness that carried the day.

Interesting. Rich doesn't have a rep for losing guys.

Are those two blaming Rich for their deals this summer? Marcus took less money to play in NY.

I mean as far as Noel, he kinda seems stupid in general. Morris, it’s possible he was hurt by waiting on Kawhi, maybe Paul told him to wait on the Lakers and then we didn’t go that direction, could be a mistake on Paul’s part. I’d say the 2 years $20 mil from San Antonio was not a consolation prize at all though, that was a great landing spot for him on a playoff team.

Noel should have two years ago. Dallas offered him 4/70.

Its the same two guys that had problems with their deals. Probably not a coincidence.

Wonder if Paul intimated that the lakers would pay them or asked them to wait while the market dried up.

Btw, if lebron messed with the spurs: great!

They've been meddling in our business for years.

I don't know nothing about no Marcus Morris or Nerlens Noel, but I do know Rich Paul need a fat raise.

KCP specifically should wire him 2 million tonight, his first born son and the keys to the city of Greenville, Georgia for that highway robbery.

KCP got 8M c'mon now. We just had such huge expectations when KCP first came&with his inconsistencies we all got over him but he's a stickler defender that can run, guard the Curry's, etc.
When he's locked in&shooting solid he's worth the 8M IMO.

if the 8M bothers y'all that much just think w/Boogie they combine for 10&change lolz.

8 is fine. It’s the 12 from last year that I’m still bothered by.
