The fine point details of this deal are huge..!!
Did the Pels agree to postpone the deal util after Free Agency..?
Are the Lakers future Draft Picks protected, etc..?

Not to mention that our 2 main assets in this trade still need to pass physicals..

I don’t get why Windhorst keeps saying this. Also saw this

How could that possibly be true? What picks could we have given up that would make this deal comparable to that terrible C Bags/Nets deal? It’s 2 future firsts, yet Ramona also posted this earlier

Very confused, you’d think if we are competitive for the next however many years, that these picks matter very little, unless Griffin is that crafty and pulls off some really wild stuff.

That's concerning. Even if our picks are in the late 20's, our scouting department makes those picks extremely valuable after the post-Lebron era. We're basically giving up Kuzma's, Hart's, Zubac's, Nance's and Clarkson's away to pair up with prime AD.

Bye jacka**! Now you can threaten to pull Zo and go elsewhere if NO doesn't draft Melo onto your team. You know this was coming.

Question: I remember some obscure rule that doesn’t allow for trading first round picks in consecutive years or something like that. Can someone confirm or deny?

It’s only 2 future first, but sounds like there may have been some swapping rights too. Which would mean that Pelicans could chose to swap our first round pick in a given year with their own. Which would only make sense if we had a better pick than them, but we won’t because we’ll be a better team.

So comparing this to the Nets-C Bags trade is hyperbole for many reasons. Including the fact that we’re getting a superstar in his prime, not washed up vets.

Id shoot really really hard for klay and it kawhi. But mostly klay. We need shooting, and a defensive wing. Klay is a realistic choice. Kawhi is obviously better, but I don’t want ya trying to get someone that’s not willing or wanting to come

This makes up for losing cp3?!! I'm in my car right now at the store, but I had to check and see. I have butterflies, like we're a shoe in for a title right now

    Yeah it’s the Stepien Rule

At one point, the Cavs had traded away five consecutive first-round picks, covering 1982 until 1985. The NBA thereafter instituted the "Stepien Rule," which states that a team (usually) cannot trade its first-round pick in consecutive years.

I think it depends on the excessiveness of the trading

So every time in the game thread that KCP chucks up a shot earlier and misses, I’m going to yell Ninja.
