How in the hell do the Lakers make a trade not including Brandon Ingram? That might be the biggest train robbery since Walt, Meth Damon, Mike, Bill Burr and Jesse siphoning methylamine. If the Lakers get this trade out without giving up Brandon Ingram, the Lakers will have the best defensive team with offense if they get Jimmy Butler.

    Rondo
    Butler
    Ingram
    James
    Davis

That team with no significant injuries rolls next year.

My body is ready. Huge fan of Zo, Kuz and Hart, but I would be thrilled if this goes down.

    PG - Caruso
    SG - BI
    SF - LeBron
    PF - AD
    C - McGee

Even without a Max FA that's a good team. Add Kawhi, or Butler and we are cooking.

I’m trying very hard to take these rumors as if they aren’t true at all, but damn do I want this to be true. If this were the deal and we got to keep Ingram, sign me up yesterday. Then pitch Butler hard, sign the best players we can with the room exception and vet minimum contracts and we have a team that can compete for a title next season.

What’s with the Butler infatuation? The guy has a low IQ and is a cancer.

Strong 2 way player who gives it his all. Playoff experience. Good in the clutch.

He’s likely the best player we have realistic shot at in free agency. I also disagree that he’s a cancer, you just don’t put him with a bunch of young players because he doesn’t have the patience for it. But in win-now mode, he’s really damn good, ups his game in the playoffs, he was often the best player for the 76ers this playoffs.

I know all about him but is really IQ and is a cancer. Look at what he did in Minnesota... when building team don’t just look at numbers. There needs to be a fit.

In Philly, he openly criticized his coach and his role. We need more drama?!

Was he wrong in either case though? Minny were huge underachievers and I blame their “amazing” young core, they’re soft, Butler was right, I don’t blame him for wanting out at his age. In Philly he should have had a larger role, Simmons is more afraid to shoot the ball than Lonzo is, Butler taking over some games is what got them as far as they went.

Two way player at guard who the Lakers desperately need. Not afraid of the moment and would be playing with adults again. It's likely Butler would flourish with Lebron and AD with him.

Agreed. I watched probably 80% of the Sixers games this year and about 50% of the Minny games as my son and I are basketball junkies. There is no denying his talent. But, his maturity and IQ worry me.

Even though he was right, he handled both situations poorly, which shows me this guy is immature. He burned bridges. There are other guys unhappy with their situations (AD comes to mind) and he didn’t act like an idiot.

Look, he would definitely help win games but what happens when the going gets tough. Then what?

I would rather have Kyrie over him.

I..might rather have Kyrie. Only because he has proven to work next to LeBron before, but his defense sucks so there’s that. If we’re talking team cancer he doesn’t have the best recent rep either, he demanded to get away from LeBron so he could have his own team instead of continuing to go to the Finals annually, and in Boston his entire team seems to hate him and be happy he’s leaving. I’d still take him though, or Butler. We are beggars this summer, and therefore we can’t be choosers, I’ll take pretty much all-star talent that wants to come here, I even said I’d take Kemba if we got AD and he was the only one willing to come here in the end, I’m in win-now mode with the Warriors weakened and Chris Paul starting to slide.

Lol, interesting thing is that RDAmbition from Reddit commented on a post about Scoop’s report from yesterday to basically say that Scoop is a fraud with no real intel.

And now he’s reporting the same thing.

^^ You're worried about Butler's IQ & you'd rather have a guy who thinks the Earth is flat..? : )

Butler's issues, especially with young players, is a legit concern. He’s had issues with multiple teams now.

I’d be comfortable with him on a team with a couple of stars and some vets, particularly LeBron, because they can reign him in.

If it’s just him and the kids I’d be worried. Not enough of an existing bond and culture to handle a team cancer IMO. Definitely not sold our kids would handle him any better than the guys in Minny or Chicago.

IF our biggest conundrum is deciding which FA, between Jimmy Buckets or Kyrie, to pair with LeBron and AD . . . flip a f*****g coin at that point. If we get either of those guys plus AD, we will legit contend. That said, not sure why everyone has given up hope on Kawhi. Is this just cause of the Vegas odds?

Yeah Butler would bully our young guys. Would want him if we get AD though.

My opinion of butler got more positive in philly. Think he'd be fine with lebron and in a place where youth doesn't get top billing. That was his issue in both stops, and I get it. He was the best player on both teams, imo.
