    Either removed an extra rib or shaved down and/or resectioned an abnormally calcified first rib or clavicle. Either way, with proper therapy/recovery it won't impact his playing career and should hold no residual effect.

    Then why the frequently mentioned continuing considerable fear about his health by NBA execs? I think there is quite a bit more to it than that.

    Ingram spoke to reporters Wednesday morning, the first time since the blood clot was diagnosed. After the procedure left him without part of his uppermost rib (an anatomically useless portion of the body), he’s not expected to have any more problems with blood clots and should make a full recovery in time to play next season.

    Surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome involves decompression of the thoracic outlet– removal of the first rib or an anomalous rib, partial removal of the anterior and middle scalene muscles, and decompression of the brachial plexus.

    I’m no doctor, so take that into account but from what I read the blood clot was caused by a pinch in the vein that goes through a tight spot around the collarbone. Once they remove or shave down the rib, that gives the veins and nerves more room. Once you remove the obstruction it shouldn’t come back. This had nothing to do with his blood. It is not a blood disorder like some people have. I believe other NBA front offices either don’t know it wasn’t blood related or that they are just trying to beat down his value. Or they could just be run by a bunch of idiots like our FO.
