If a story makes the FO look bad, it's kind of obvious who leaked it...right?

So far we've had leaks about the coaches wanting to have Jules/BLo back. Yet when you look at the PT those guys were getting, does it match up?

Coaches valued shooting and disagree with the playmaker narrative, yet greenlit MozDeng with the other regime (does that match the shooting narrative at all). Did both Moz and Deng's PT go down considerably after they were brought here for Luke?

We bring in Bogut, BLo, TyChandler, have Zu and look at the minutes they got. If the object is to move Bron off ball to help prolong his playing career, why then would you encourage small ball and have him matchup against bruisers?

Maybe it's not even Luke and it's his assistants. Either way you look at it, there has been alot of sleazy leaks that make it as if Magic had it in for Luke. Yet he remained on the job for 2 years, instead of getting ousted by the new FO.

Shooters weren't had last summer on 1yr deals. I've already provided the names last year, so y'all can start doing the work and look it up. But here it is one last time:

Also alot of folks here act like they know the CBA. I'm not claiming that I do entirely, but I've done work to understand it some. Some y'all acting like JJ Redick was a legit option ignoring that at age 34, maybe he wanted to earn his early bird with Philly. Maybe he wanted to earn a de-facto no trade clause as a result. Maybe we wanted to have the necessary cap to go get a Kawhi this summer, rather than have JJ take up that space. Maybe we approached JJ for a 1yr deal and he chose to stay with Philly instead.

Some of y'all need to put in the effort to fact check before putting out a faulty narrative.

Anyways, let the haters have their fun. The come up will be so much more rewarding.

I’m struggling to buy that Luke refused to “bulk up” his staff. The writing was on the wall that he’d be fired, but he’s going to refuse to do the one thing that could save his job? Either he’s fed up and is ready to be fired, or the story isn’t as simple as reported.

So Kings are planning on firing Jorger even though he just lead them from 27 wins to 39 wins this season, no lebron no true star per se and yet we still got folks here giving Luke the excuse that he didn't get the ideal roster for success.

We went from 26 to 35 wins the year before (with a ton of injuries as usual) and Luke is the expected frontrunner for the Kings if we let him go. There are anti-Luke cases to be made, but this ain't it.

yeah, mentioned this in the replacement thread, but it bears repeating. and it's a classic case of grass-is-greener.

Yeah I like Joerger but keep in mind, there wsa absolutely zero pressure to win in Sacramento given the roster they had...whereas in LA, we had pressure to not only make the playoffs, but go all the way to the WCF and challenge the Warriors.

psshhh....this is whats wrong with this organization, they missed the playoffs 5 straight yrs prior to this season and we got expectations to magically jump into contention against the Warriors just like that?

Im not asking for us to hire Jorger, I'm just saying there's little justification to keep Luke as HC.

I'm really not sure why they fired Joerger. He's a good coach, they had good record with no stars, almost made the playoffs. What did they expect him to do?

Don't need to hire Joreger - that decision should be made by the new president. But Luke can happily go to the Kings.

What we need is a new President ASAP, so he hire a good coach before all the best candidates are taken up while Jeanie can't make up her mind on who to run the show.

I dont either as he did show improvements but I'm just using that scenario as to why some cont. to support luke and excuse his failures on offense, sub patterns, etc.

Let Luke finish out his contract and let's reevaluate this in a year.

Jeanie does not want Luke gone. I imagine in any interviewing for Magic's replacement, this will come up. The love she has for her and Phil's adopted son isn't going to change between now and then. Yes, someone coming in will want to bring in their guy, but at the same time, they usually like an evaluation process of what's in place and known how he's regarding with Jeanie, I don't think they will dare go there.

Anyone not named Pop or Phil wouldn't have been able to overcome the s*** storm that was this season. Between injuries, Bron, Klutch AD fiasco, and whatever is going on upstairs. It's a recipe for failure.

No one we've had rumored interest in is better than Luke. Constant turnover is a terrible look for a business. We are already going to have that in the front office thanks to Magic and with the roster with year after year of 1 year rentals. Jeanie wants continuity at least somewhere.

Luke has a lot of deficiencies as a coach, but I think he's improving. I think the kids like him, he's respected around the league, and we were in a good spot before our season collapsed.

If someone great was available, then by all means show him the door. Until you show me THAT guy, what's the point?

Jeanie and AD might just be enough to save his job in LA. We have to get him at least one seasoned assistant. If he won't do his buys like that and demote or pick one, upstairs has to (don't buy reports that he's still not willing to do that though).

Plus with Magic out and a hole in the front office, I see Bron and his people making an even stronger power play. I don't want one of his guys (Lue) on the bench, too.

    100% this

Plus keep in mind, people want to complain about dumping Dlo and Randle as 3rd year players and having them play well for other teams, well Luke is now a 3rd year coach that has shown a lot of promise defensively.

I’d be very ok with Jennie giving him another chance with the last year of his contract with a decent roster, and some NEW coaching assistant upgrades.

But that would entail a change in coaching....and I think that's the point, Chief.

Luke as a figurehead and a player/ego manager is something I feel he does well. You look at the players continuously talk well of him.

But those assistants man. I love Mad Dog, but he didn't get the BYU gig. I love Shaw, but he didn't really light it up in Denver. The rest of the coaches are a mixed bag. Meanwhile Pop had a hell of a coaching tree. Phil had Tex. You need those top aids.

I'm okay with Luke coming back, but the rest of that bench needs to be addressed (we're middle of the pack in drtg and in the bottom tier in ortg the last 3 years).

Oh and the trash leaks by someone in the coaching staff was bulls***. That also needs to stop!

I maintain that anyone who comes in should have the freedom to bring in their own guy. I don't want any of the current people making this call.

I agree with both @vasashi17 and @ElginTheGreat. If Luke stays, they at least need an overhaul of the assistants. However, priority number one IMO is finding the right PBO and then understand and trust that person's vision. I don't care whether that vision includes Luke or not, but the focus should be on filling that position with someone that has a clear plan and sticks to it.

making a HC have to work with asst. that he hasnt chosen is like buying a car that didnt' have the options you want, the color you wanted, n none of the features you were looking for.
