    He's due for a new contract this summer, right? Nets should wait and just match whatever offer he gets (i can see someone throwing 5/125 mil at him, NBA is crazy).

    Yeah. Maybe they should have negotiated earlier. It's a hard situation to read with his youth, his knees, and his upside.

    In his last 22 games, he's at 31.7 minutes, 24.8 points, 7.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds, shooting 46.5% on FGs, 39% on 3s, and 88% on FTs. That 5/$125 is just a touch less than Bradley Beal, and I think it's not unreasonable. Russ is currently 17th in assists per game and 31st in points per game, but if you put a bracket on the start of the season, he'd be at 13th in assists and 15th in points.

    Sorry I don’t want to be seen as a hater but I don’t get the ongoing weekly/daily Russell updates. He isn’t a Laker and hasn’t been for years. We don’t have the same kind of updates on Clarkson or Larry Nance etc. I wish Russ well but I moved on long ago.

    We've moved on from Clarkson and Nance because they aren't all-star players. D'angelo Russell had a lot of promise that was derailed by immaturity and bad atmosphere.

    Lakers made a mistake trading him unless they get AD next year.

    You don't have to post here or even read it. If, on the other hand, you don't want people posting here unless the majority of their posts are in LD, that's different. I think it's a shame if so, as there's a lot of good discussion on this site outside LD.

    Nets didn't have Kurucs, Dudley, Dinwiddie, and LeVert. Those four account for 73 games started and 40 points per game.
