its one thing to say this roster construction isn't built for "contention" but at same time its not bad enough to be losing to the likes of Atl though, there is more issues than just mere roster construction. I do not see Sac, Lac as being a better roster construction (not even an all-star on their respective roster) but both those teams play hard and execute ALOT better than this team, that to me is more indicative of coaching rather than talent/roster fit.

We can dislike Doc all we want, but he is a MUCH better coach than Luke. And it shows. This Laker team would be in the 4th-5th spot in the West right now with him coaching.

Well, that was terrible. That was pretty much a must win game for us over a pretty bad opponent. The fact that we were worse than them is kind of damning.

One fact is glaring right now, we are trash defensively without Lonzo. Just horrid. There were no stops when we needed them.

You can't sugarcoat this loss. We are headed towards a serious crash right now. I said earlier in the year once we started getting over the hump that I couldn't see us dipping below .500 again. We are there now.

I agree with others here that we're on life support at this point. You simply have to win games - whatever it takes. We should be able to leapfrog the Clippers but that still doesn't get us to the playoffs. It's going to be a tough road with older Lebron having to make the push. Reminds me of when D' Antoni (and Kobe) broke Kobe trying to get to post season.

Until and unless Lonzo comes back soon I can't see us winning a lot of games.

Maybe, but Doc had issues coaching the diva team. When he got lesser ego'd players, his coaching translated better. This is why coaching in the NBA is so hard. You have to have stars to win it all. But those stars are a pain in the a** to work with.

I bet if you had Luke coaching that team in Brooklyn, he would be doing well. Last year, after December slump, Luke was coaching much better. Lebron coming destroyed him. Lebron is a coach killer anywhere he goes. Unless you kiss his a** of course.

This roster is built to lose by 20 or 30 points if we have a single person out injured LOL

The reality is that I don’t believe that. I think we have enough talent on this roster if there really is no excuse for our current performance levels regardless of who is out.

We have several young players who have scored 30 points in a game, had 10 assists in a game, had 10 rebounds or had five steals in a game, so there really is no excuse except how they are being managed.

we'll never know because luke will be fired and half these folks won't be here next year. but i'm of the opinion that this is a shoddily constructed team that nobody can win with. we rely on lebron's greatness because the rest of the roster is either green as hell or simply not good.

the offense was creating open shots for guys who missed or dribbled out of them. our vet pg was slinging the ball all over the place. the coach can't "manage" that stuff. the only weapon he has is benching, and you can't bench lebron, rondo, and ingram. it's a tough spot to be in.

i'll wager luke gets an assistant job very quickly after this one and is successful in his next, lower-profile head coaching job.

whoever we bring in will look better, but that's because they won't be dealt this hand again. the FO has probably learned something from the complete and utter debacle that was the non-lebron summer of 2018.

bill was right to warn his son about this job, imo. said so at the time.

We needed that win. Period. At this point, I just won't be sad to see Luke (or anyone else honestly) go. We should beat the Hawks ten times out of ten. Roster issues and all.

    Terrible loss.

Bill said Luke wasn't ready or not experienced enough, that part he was right about.

I don’t know. Sacramento is a good team with a great roster going forward. But yes in general. I agree.

Sac's coach flamed out hard in Memphis. Just sayin'.

Also: nobody expects anything of sac, ever. Easier to win that way.

Not sure they're well-coached is my point. Their players do fit their coach's preferred system, though.

reading the Sac forums, it sounds more like Jorger adapted to his roster rather than the opposite....they said last yr he was trying to coach like he did in Mem with the slowest pace in the league. Now with all the young legs, Sac is #1 pace or at least last time I saw they were. Just like Pop who use to also coach a slow a** pace n now has adapted to the faster way of playing like rest of the league. Luke came in here preaching nothing but playing fast but doesn't appear to understand how to play any other way thus when this team doesn't run n attack the paint, they just settle for contested shots and 3's with shot clock winding down.

Except I don't think our best player has the "whatever it takes" in him. You saw down the stretch against the Hawks, his body language was terrible. I can't pinpoint the exact play but he never got back on defense, it was 4 on 5 and they made a 3. Luke called timeout and you finally saw Lebron passing half court. Awful. That s*** rubs off on the rest of the team.

Seems like he does that every game when he doesn’t get calls. Ridiculous

I'm pretty much shutting down for the Season..
Gonna be some fun matchups in the Playoffs, but GS should easily win again barring injury.
Gonna be on the "Anyone But Houston" train the rest of the way.

I'm officially on team tank, I rather have a shot at Zion then watch a team that lost their chemistry due to LeGM/LeKlutch. Also not to mention watching big Zu playing very well on the clippers. Till this day I don't understand why Jeannie didn't add Jerry West at least as a consultant.
