First phrase out my head coming across this thread...architect of the Triangle Offense. Always thought of how Bryant once said that he broke off the sets on his own just to drive Winter crazy. :)

    R.I.P. Tex Winter...

Rest In Peace to one of the greatest basketball minds ever.

Phil Jackson was the face and motivator, but Tex was the behind the scenes Xs and Os guy that made the Lakers and Bulls championship teams run.

Tex, you will be missed but not forgotten

Man was a basketball legend for sure, loved by all, part of the Laker family, he will be missed. Was cool to see him in pictures eating with the coaches and some players only like a couple months ago. At least he lived a very long and full life.

RIP Tex Winter. What a brilliant basketball mind and innovator. Thank you for the triangle offense and your contributions to our three-peat in the Phil/Shaq/Kobe era!

I think what we loved most about Tex too was that he would never hold anything back from anyone. Including Phil as Kobe said, haha.

Has Phil been on social media with a comment? I would guess for sure but haven't seen it and he is a hermit after all up in Wyoming somewhere. Or is it Montanna? Same difference. Big mountains and cold as hell in the winter. Man's country.

(Tim the Tool Man Taylor "man grunt") Loved that show!!

I'm sure Phil has spoken with his family or people close to Tex. Phil doesn't need to say anything on social media for me or anyone to know that he cared about Tex and everything he meant to him. Some people are just more private.
