Sviatoslav Harden carried it together with Hart. I think we got a shooter who can actually shoot... First one after... Radman?

    Oh, and it's spelled Святосла́в Михайлю́к. Simple. ;)

Personally, I'd spell it Svyatoslav Mihalyuk using latin alphabet. Stress on first syllable every time.

Have a mistake there....Mikhayluk. Not Mikhalyuk. And the stress is on the last syllable like you written. Not first.

I am not sure I understand. In the way I transliterated it, it is LY , not YL. I mean, I can read cyrillic. For some reason in the US it is spelled with "ili", but that just leads to confusion. That first I is not supposed to be clearly voiced (but if you want, you could pronounce it MIHAYLYUK), and the LI combination is slurred like one quick LY. And no, the stress is on the first syllable MI, just say it fast. You have a video of him pronouncing it.

It's pronouced just as I spelled it - Svyatoslav Mihalyuk or Mihaylyuk, the difference is negligible. That "K" in the latin version of his last name does not do anything. It simply indicates that H is not silent. It's the same H as in "him" or "hole". Sure, the announcers pronounce it wrong every time(like this: meHAlyuk), but it's exactly how I describe it. The way I spelled it makes it more simple for English speakers - pronounce it fast: MEhalyuk.

Well, since I am a native Russian speaker, I didn't need the explanation. And no, the stress is exactly like you've written it in Cyrillic -- on the last syllable.

As for YL -- it's pretty simple. МихаЙЛЮк === mi-kha-yluk. It's not negligible. What you've written in English, would be МихаЛЙЮк. Which is not a correct sequence of letters in any Russian/Ukrainian word.

The only way you'd be right, and it's what I think you were getting at is... МихаЙЛЮк vs. МихаЛЮк
which would, indeed, be negligible as pronounced.

However, y == Й and yu == Ю... so, you basically need both to make it proper. Mikhaylyuk. As you wanted.

Still don't understand what you said about the stress thing. The stress, in Russian, is on the last syllable. Without any doubt.

    I'll stop now :)

It all makes sense to me because I pronounce it exactly the way he pronounces it. And the announcers don't, since they always stress the second syllable KHA for some reason. I just think transliterating from cyrillic could be a lot more simple. That KH thing always drives me crazy. Anyway, thanks for the discussion.

I wish they would run more off ball action for him. Too many times he’s standing in the corner. He’s an elite shooter, move him around like Klay and Korver. I know it’s summer league but simple pin downs or an elevator play is so easy to draw up.
