Our team was behind on their offense in the beginning of the year because all of they did was work on defense. Short memory.

I guess it was the first time he did "that" defensive drill.

Also didn't DAR have a comment about our defense right after he left too?

A defensive team drill and an individual defensive "skill" drill may not be the same thing. Why don't we just wish the best for the young man.

Looking forward to Randle's first game against us... The media will have a field day.

I’m pretty sure I would be feeling a little butt hurt if the team I grew up rooting for and worked my a** off playing for basically rejected me and said they didn’t want me.

This will pass, but it is a good idea to never burn any bridges in the NBA

Just use it as motivation to show them they made the wrong decision picking somebody else no matter who it was.

I fear Randle's going to have field days every time he plays us. Until we have someone that can guard him down low and around the key. He's going a physical beast in his prime (more so than he already is) and will make it his mission to do as much damage as he can every time he plays us the rest of his career.

Looking at Jabari Parker’s deal, Randle should seriously fire Mintz.

I came here specifically to point this out. All I could think of was Randle after hearing Jabari's deal.

I thought the Rondo and Randle signings were a "wink wink" deal, but after reading about the rivalry between Mintz, Klutch Sports and Pelinka, I think that it's unlikely.

Big losers this off season are CAA and specifically Mintz. I bet he spent all year trying to convince PG to stay in OKC as well.

Agreed. The way Mintz handled Jules situation is embarrassing.

For Jabari to get paid double what Randle gets paid is unreal...I'm curious to see what Capela and Smart get too...

I will miss Randle immensely and you knwo what? Myabe he comes back next summer when he opts out...

jabari's second year is a team option, though, right? and randle's is a player option. so, if both go down to career-ending injuries tomorrow, they made about the same amount of cash on these contracts. if both play well, randle could opt out and end up with a raise--but probably only to about 15 per max, but maybe for many years. different kinds of risks/rewards.

i actually see the contracts as kind of similar, all things considered.

mintz is still a total loser, though. f him. he leveraged us hard in the PG situation and we got bupkus out of that except multiple PR black eyes.

I could be blinded by my Mintz hate. Just don’t really think those deals should even be close with his injury history.

Yeah I think Randle should have gotten much more. When two big injury concerns in LaVine and Parker are getting 20 million annually, Mintz f***ed up. Julius should be very upset. Incidentally, so should Capela.

I hope Julius fires Mintz and comes back to us next summer (if we strike out on every big name FA)

for 4 years. guys are actually starting to balk at signing long-term deals because they are hoping to cash in, mozgov-style, on sellers' markets (should they occur again--maybe next year?). in other words, i wonder if randle would have turned down smart's offer. he probably thinks he was headed towards playing for the QO, which is less money than he's getting next year, and he'd be in the same boat come july 2019. this route got him an extra 4 million or so next year (i think), plus 9 million in insurance in case he gets hurt. plus it keeps the door open for the big payday if he crushes it, which he probably believes will happen.
