Well, the story was broke by Windhorst, so I don't know if it was so much leaked by Lebron, or Windhorst happened to be in the room with his nose nestled comfortably between Lebron's glutes like he is 95% of the time Lebron isn't on camera.

If that link doesn't work (for some reason with Yahoo my home page on computer I have a hard time copy pasting Yahoo links .... like they're screwing with them to keep the Yahoo sports story links from being copied by me) .... I just copy pasted the whole thing below.

Edit ... seems to be working. For now.

How Kyrie Irving has ended the super-team Cavs as we know them

If there were words that could force Cleveland to move one of the NBA’s best players, Irving found them.

“The price is going to be super high,” a Western Conference team executive told The Vertical. “There is a lot riding on this for Cleveland. They might have to wait until Dec. 15 [when contracts of players signed this summer become tradable] to do any deal. It could be an awkward few months.”

The Cavaliers have no allegiance to Irving here, and would be foolish to show any.

“It’s difficult, in the sense that since it’s public, teams know the Cavs have to trade him,” former Nets and Sixers GM Billy King told The Vertical. “It’s going to be hard to bring [Irving] back into the locker room and say, ‘Forget about it, let’s play.’ On the other hand, they can get teams into a bidding war. If I’m Cleveland, I’m looking for two to three starting-level players to fill out the roster and make the bench stronger.”

As for Irving, King said, any team acquiring him would be wise to gauge what he wants in the future – and if it is in a position to provide it.

“It’s got to be a team that he thinks he can win with,” King said. “Because you have to look at what you are giving up. Making a deal like that, you have to really feel that you can re-sign him.”

These are complicated times in Cleveland, and the Cavaliers will make these franchise-changing decisions with its front-office brainpower severely depleted. Koby Altman could be a good general manager, but his experience is limited and he has Gilbert, as hands-on as ever, looking over his shoulder. Dealing Irving could need to be the first in a series of team-altering transactions, a reshaping that needs the kind of experienced hand Gilbert deemed unnecessary.

He's going to be traded by training camp, to who, I have no idea. But essentially next season turns into a tough race for 2nd place.

I'm a huge Kyrie fan but he could be making a big mistake. Him and Lebron were perfect for each other, he will struggle if he's traded to a terrible team.

It's funny to see the media's reactions. "Shocking". "Bizarre". Why does the media have such a hard time grasping at the concept that maybe, just maybe, some people just don't want to play with LeBron? Maybe Kyrie really doesn't want to play with him. We all know that the media would have jumped on that narrative had this been Kobe.

In nearly all their wins, it's because LeBron does everything. In all their losses, LeBron can do no wrong so obviously he needs more help. His supporting cast (usually Love) gets the blame. Remember on the Heat, Wade had to take a backseat to LeBron because the team just couldn't work otherwise. Wade had to learn how to play off the ball. Bosh also "warned" Love that things would be difficult. LeBron is one of the greatest players of all-time (easily top 10), but playing with him means making sacrifices. You give up the ball, not LeBron. You need to adjust to cater to LeBron's strengths, not the other way around. LeBron was also whining all season about how he needs more help, how needs another playmaker, etc.

So to me, it's not surprising to see Kyrie not wanting to play with LeBron. Unfortunately for Kyrie, if the report is true that he wants to be the focal point on the team, then he's going to have a really frustrating career. He's not as good as he thinks he is. Maybe they can make the playoffs with him as the focal point, but they won't be winning anything.

They're really making Kyrie the villain on ESPN today. Zach Lowe asking why he'd want to leave a top 3 player of all time, pointing out that the Cavs suck when Irving is on the floor without LeBron. Michael Smith on SC basically calling him crazy for wanting to leave LeBron, using what Lillard said about the situation as ammo. It all reeks of Kobe vs Shaq again, only Kobe > Irving. I found it insulting that Lowe included Kobe in his list of great sidekicks that wanted to be traded away. Kobe wasn't a sidekick.

Didn't Kyrie have his own team? They got the #1 overall pick for his efforts.

I like him, but I'd hate to try and win a title with him as the best player on my team.

But.......... If I'm the Cavs, there is NO WAY I trade Kyrie. He's young and fills seats. Especially when everyone knows LeBron will be gone in 11 months.

Lebron having a no-trade clause really puts them in a pickle.

Yeah, but if they had an experienced GM, he could gauge teams interest / best offer and then go to LeBron and his agent and propose it. I'm offering up Deng if no one objects.

Magic and Rob should call up new bff Rich Paul.

But Cavs are in a lose lose situation unless they can get solid young assets for Kyrie and even then it could still be a lose.

Cavs are gonna be in the same boat as Indy / OKC, watching PG13 leave for virtually nothing. Trade him now and get Deng!

...while James is a great player, imagine Ball or Ingram having to defer to him trying to grow into their roles?
