OK Kobes, you can shoot as much you want.

Just please try to let D'lo, Jordan and Julius get some shots too? Will miss you man. It's been tough seeing you like this. Crossing my fingers for you to play in game #82 and go out like a legend should.

I just got that alert on my phone, and as I read it I got hopeful. "Kobe Bryant announces on the Players Tribune he will retire...after the season". Damn. Oh well I hope for some good games from him still, I don't want my last memories of him to be horrible, I'd settle for mediocre.

Welp, not ashamed to admit, the waterworks came out a bit reading that. Damn, let us enjoy the hell out of 24 and just stop criticizing the man.

Dang, I almost got a little misty reading that. I'd also be surprised if Kobe didn't shed a few tears writing it. This isn't the Kobe I want to see play anymore, but the league won't be the same when he's gone, there will never be another Kobe just like there won't be an MJ, Magic, Bird, Shaq, and the other greats.

Kobe embodies everything you can ask for in a player when it comes to passion, work ethic, and drive to win. He pushed himself past the limits and set a new standard of what it means to dedicate yourself to a sport. I've been critical of him as of late but he will always be one of my favorite Lakers second only to Magic. He is a Laker Legend through and through and I'm going to miss him.

Have to admit I welled up a bit reading that. How classy and how beautifully written by Kobe. It explains so much.

Beautifully written... basketball will not be the same for me after this season. I've been taking these games for granted due to how badly they're playing, but its time to embrace every minute, moment from this point on.

It is a sort of happy feeling, but ultimately sad. Glad to see Kobe knows its time.

Not gonna lie - the tears were flowing after reading that.

Kobe is the reason I fell in love with basketball, with the best franchise in basketball. I feel like I grew up with him. Knew it was coming but now it's real. So depressing.

Thank you Kobe. For everything. You're the greatest player I've ever seen in my life time. The greatest player to ever put on the purple and gold. There won't ever be another like him. The championships, the competiveness, all the clutchness, all the great and phenomenal plays and performances, putting this team and franchise on his back, 81 points in a game which I don't believe you'll ever see again, taking a team full of scrubs to the playoffs in such a tough conference, every time people said he couldn't do it he rose above time and time again like winning two titles without Shaq, defying age and atricion time and time again until MDA finally ruined his incredible career. Man I'm gonna miss him. Yes it's time to move on, but I'm gonna miss the guy.
