I love Curry and think he is a phenomenal player but he is "dead wrong"... So, I'm probably biased but I think the Lakers would absolutely smash the Warriors... especially the 2001 team. I also think the 72 win Bulls would beat the Warriors.

Certainly the game has changed but with a generational big man talent such as Shaq, I believe Shaq would just crush the Warriors. Who are they going to put on Shaq? Looney? Draymond? Even if Boogie was healthy, Shaq would own him. Then you have Kobe... don't get me started there.

    Shaq alone would average 40-50.

They have no answer for Shaq. Looney and Draymond would foul out in the 1st half. Then Kobe/Shaq would feast on them for 30 a piece in the 2nd half.

Is there a player in the NBA today that could defend both PG and SG as well as or better than prime Kobe?

The dubs needed a ridiculous CBA loop hole to create their current iteration. Otherwise they would be sitting on 1 title...yep just 1...the 1st one they got on Bron after both Love and Ky went down in the '14/'15 Finals. And folks wanna cry about Dray getting suspended and how it led to Bron's only Cleveland title after erasing a 1-3 deficit...bruh, y'all never faced key injuries that took you entirely out of the Finals like Bron's squad had...GTFO here with that noise Steph.

    The dubs are straight asterid*cks...

Dray would just be trying to punt Shaq's manhood the whole goddamn game, till he gets his bell rung by the Deisel's Elbow.

Curry would shimmy after a few buckets, but then Shaq would "fawkoffme" on him and then it's a wrap on that lil cute dance battle.

KD would run to his phone to anonymously (or so he thinks) yell for help...

Boogie would tell him, don't look at me...I got a Gleague game to go to...

And Klay wouldn't even be in the goddamn building cause his pops loves him and would distract him with some fine scaffolding outside the arena to shield him from the massacre inside...

Oh...and then they would have to deal with the Mamba...

The dubs are seriously beneficiaries of their time. Sincerely the most underwhelming "dominating" teams in history. They can shoot, but when they're off its a goddamn travesty. If they get over their fatcatitis, they will most likely win another one this year...but s***, I would never put them in the conversation of dominant teams. That would be "dead wrong".

Shaq is simply stating the truth. We would have decimated them. Probably a sweep unless they got red hot for one game.

I will comment further when I can stop laughing.....

Ok. Kobe would have broke down their defense and Shaq would of had a dunkathon. What would really be fun is to watch Kareem, Magic, Worthy and company trash them. That was the greatest team of all time.

just got punked by Tor like we did, so no Steph, shaq is NOT "dead wrong." GSW is a jump shooting team and when that shot is off like it was last night they can't do squat.

the only way the warriors would beat the 3-peat lakers is if they shot some ridiculous percentage from the 3 pt line. they live and die by the 3

if steph and klay aren't camping out behind the line and sinking 3 after 3 on each posession, it would be an absolute blowout for LA. shaq would be going up against kevon looney or draymond green and probably put up 60+ pts alone

Looks like Steph raided Klay’s locker.

Shaq would make Draymond cry and break KD in half. Kobe would have locked Steph up. Every thing else is money. And lets not get started with the supporting cast of Harper, Fisher, Fox, Horry and Horace Grant those were some tough guys.

    Hands down.

Shaq could and did average close to 40/20 in some playoff series while being defended by multiple bruising 300 pound 7 footers. And they still fouled out like frequently. Every team needed 3 big bodies who has 6 fouls to give.

Imagine him going against guys like Durant, Green or Looney..they would foul out in the first quarter. Every possession with Shaq ends in a dunk an and1 or 2 fts.

He would average 50/25...hands down. I'm not even exeggerating.

KD and Russ couldn’t beat an older version of the Mamba in the playoffs. So now I’m supposed to believe KD, Steph and Klay could beat a prime Kobe and Shaq? GTFOH. Let’s not forget that Kobe was the best perimeter defender in the league back then, and Ron Harper was a defensive dog too. Then you add Rick Fox and Horry getting under KD’s skin? Lmao.

Dubs you wanna go small ball? No problem:

    Shaw/Fisher
    Harper
    Kobe
    Rice
    Fox/Grant

    Seriously, Lakers in 5.

The Dubs would have no answer for the force of nature that was this man in his prime:

People are quick to forget how truly great Shaq was in 2001. Here’s his highlights vs Mutombo, who was the best defensive center in the league. Tell me one guy on that soft Dubs team that would slow him down. He’d average 50 ppg vs them and that’s not an exaggeration.

Yeah no, that lineup would get smoked...need Shaq in there to have any advantage.

It's an interesting match-up since the Warriors have no one to guard Shaq, but Shaq would also have a hard time on defense when the Warriors go small.

I have no clue who would win a best of 7 but I'd give my left nut to see it happen.

Man, the defense was so intense in 2001. That was fun to watch. Mutombo did everything he could, played so well... you almost feel sorry for the guy who works so hard on the defensive end.
