Agreed. I think the 3pt from the top of arc is fine but the side 3s are way too short. I always said they should widen the court and extend the side 3 to the same as the top 3 distance (perfect semi arc). It makes no sense for the 3 pt line to be a different distance at different points anyways. Widening the court would also open the game naturally instead of artificially like they do now by not allowing any contact.

    Hart/Kuz > Ingram/Ball

I don't think people realize how close we are. If we can move Ball, Ingram, and however many picks it takes for AD, we are a threat this season. Even Ingram and change for Beal gives us a puncher's chance.

I think Ball still has a lot of value but I'd 99% move Ingram.

    That's where I'm at too.

I want to keep Ball if possible because he does so much all over the court and if he ever learns how to shoot, even 2 years from now, he'll be a star.

I don’t think people realize how important Zo is to what we want to do on defense here. To have a pg that can lock certain players down, that’s going to be getting deflections, strips, steals, blocks all game long is so valuable and rare. I do not miss the days of getting shredded by opposing guards, layup after layup after layup. I’m good with trading Ingram, we don’t seem to be missing him a ton, but I hang onto Kuz, Hart AND Ball for relatively low cost production.

If BI figures something out, he's insanely valuable. Don't want to give up on him yet, but it isn't clicking. I'm hoping sideline time is forcing him to see things in a new light.

BI kind of reminds me of Odom when Phil first came here. Playing without the ball was very tough and uncomfortable for him. It took him about 2 to 3 years to really become comfortable playing off ball in the triangle.

For young players that have been working so hard on their own individual skills, it's hard to set that aside and use only what is needed at the moment when you are dying to showcase your improvement.

I hope he sees the offense flowing better with him NOT there, and has an epiphany as to how he needs to play. I still expect hiccups, but it would be great to see a leap in his mentality.

Our coach is still finding his way, and I don't think that matches his ultimate vision. Drives us all a bit nuts when we see stuff that seems so obvious that isn't acted upon. Just have to assume there is a different big picture going on.

I hoped for a similar epiphany when he was suspended, but nope. He was my favorite Laker last season, I’m not down on the kid, it just seems the only way he knows how to play is pounding the ball, iso, he doesn’t make quick decisions, he puts his head down too often. On a team trying to run a different style it would work fine, DeRozan has made a career of it, but here we are trying to be fast ball movement most of the time, and when not, LeBron has the ball. I could see a very nice bench role for Ingram running things out there more, but we don’t seem to want to do that.

Well, when you have Rondo, Lance and Hart, seems like giving him that role isn't a very big priority. Should a guy 6'11" with mediocre handles be a ball handler anyways?

It seems to be the only way he can get into a rhythm, he seems to need the ball in his hands to really be effective.

Another Laker win, and another night of LeBron and Kuz finding each other all over the court. With his already improved D and now his 3s falling, Kuz is finally looking like the player I hoped for coming into the season.

Goes back to my theory of players that always practice alone. He needs to spend more time just balling with guys vs hone individual skills only. In order to pick up the finer points of the game, you must be able to operate without the ball in your hands and impact the game.

Plus, anyone this committed is worth keeping.

Sadly I don’t view Odom as a flattering comparison. Nothing but love for the guy since he was instrumental in those back-to-back championships, but mostly he was a MADDENING player who rarely put his full skill set together for consistent stretches. I hope Ingram’s ceiling is higher than that.

By far the best young asset among the Lakers young core.

He has "IT". Lonzo and Ingram don't.

Hart has it too but he is more of a role player. He is very good at everything but not great at enough things to be a star. Kuz has his weaknesses defensively but offensively he is just too talented.

    Second year... SECOND YEAR.

I know some people think he's near his peak because he spent 4 years in college, but he's still just 23.

He calls up Rondo at 2 am after watching video of himself to talk about how he can improve for god's sake.... Kuzma's got IT!

    I have no doubt.

Kuz is the real deal. His pure scoring ability is amazing. His catch and shoot 3 seems to be streaky and I think that’s the thing he should work on the most because playing with Bron, he’s gonna get a lot of good open looks from the 3.

As someone new to watching the Lakers consistently, I’m most impressed by his willingness to learn and understand that he’s not a finished product. Lately, he’s been looking like LeBron lite and that most likely means he’s been taking every chance to learn from a great like LeBron.

His tunnel vision was something that stuck out to me like a sore thumb early in the season but now it doesn’t seem like as much of an issue. Defensively I think he’s been better as well but I’m sure that will take some time to really become a habit.

I hope Ingram can also adapt because out of all the young guys, he’s the one I’ve been most down on. His defense is great but on offense he just seems so one dimensional and doesn’t fit with Bron at all unless Bron is tired and wants someone else to just go to work like Kyrie did.

Since BI has been out, the offense has seemed to become more like “Bron Ball.” That has a negative connotation but the fact is it just works. Kuz, Hart, Javale, Chandler and even KCP fir perfectly with this style of play but it’s so much more powerful when there’s a reliable second option that can create for himself.

    Kuz seems to be that

So I assume by now, the trade Kuz is no longer an option?

Hope he makes the cut for the ASG. As it is, Harden may not even make it if Rockets continue to lead the Suns. Damn wild wild west!

You can make it 2 West star to the 1 from East and it's still won't be fair to many players from the west.
