wasnt Phoenix tanking last season? and maybe sat Chandler out some games here and there. was he actually injured last season or last couple of seasons which made him miss a lot of games?

We have a nice 2 headed monster at the 5.

    Who goes to make room?

I have one gripe here: they say in the article LeBron makes it difficult to run an open system. They site his usage rate at just over 28% as being just a smidge lower than his 30% career usage.

However, they then say Ingram is the next closest at a distant 26% usage.

So is 2% close or far? :D

Also Lebron's usage is 29.5% this year.

Doing a lot of research right now on Tyson and EVERYTHING looks great.

I just hope he doesn't fall off a cliff right when he joins us....10-15 minutes though are good spot minutes for him

I’m cautiously optimistic. He will provide much needed rebounding and bench minutes. But smart teams will just screen and roll him to death and he’s not mobile like McGee to help much on that front.

Nonetheless, it’s not like we had many other options other than praying for Williams. Good job Magic and Pelinka for making the most out of a tough situation!

Ugh just when I was getting excited about this you brought me back down to earth lol.

I guess i'll take whatever we can get...he's more of a lob threat than Williams and guards are going to think twice going in the lane against him as he will challenge shots at the rim and be more of a presence...also his reboudning has alwasy been solid.

I agree, but it's nice the way things have worked out. If you gave me a choice right now of Brook Lopez or Tyson Chandler for this team I pick Tyson without hesitation.

    Brook's positives:

    Better 3 point shooter
    Durable

    Tyson's positives:

    Better D
    MUCH better rebounding
    Better at the P & R
    Better leadership influence
    Championship experience

I’d take Chandler. Lopez is an awful rebounder and neither of them are super mobile. Chandler at least played elite defense at some point in his career LOL

Not trying to bring you down. Obviously signing a 36 year old center won’t magically solve all our problems - but it was a needed move. It’s not like we had a plethora of options here. Luke asked Magic on Tuesday for a backup C and he delivered.

I would like to see us invest in player development of Wagner and Williams for future seasons too.

Yeah, his pick and roll defense will be bad; but, hey, he'll only need to give 13-15 minutes per game, if that. If teams go small, bring in Williams for stints who is a much better perimeter defender.

For now, at least we got another big; it was much, much needed.

Wow seems like this came out of nowhere. Excellent pickup. He is 36 but bigs seem to last a lot longer in the league nowadays. At the very least it’s a legit big body we can throw out there when needed.

We desparately need him. He's gonna be the defensive voice we need out there. Lonzo/McGee to Rondo/Chandler isn't such a big dropoff.

I’m guessing Lebron signed off on this too, and they probably have a good relationship from their time on the Olympic team in spite of being rivals.

Nah this is another dog for Bron to team up with.

From Lance and 'Do in the Eastern playoffs, to McGee in the Finals, Bron will cosign the dudes that are looking to f*** people up...which is why I was so down for Noah. But this s*** right here...yeah, I can totally get behind. Good to see you coming back home, fellow #SmashBro.

    like this a lot

chandler is still a solid defensive big man and that's something this team needs badly. not to mention he'll be a great locker room presence for the kids
