If Greg Oden can try to make a comeback, why can’t Bynum? Might end up with the same outcome but worth a shot. We are weak at the 5 position. I’d take a flyer on him for minimum if he’s got anything left.

I definitely wouldn’t mind signing Bynum for a non guaranteed contract. If he still has any game left he may be good in circumstances where we need a big body to match up with another big like a Marc Gasol or the type which granted there aren’t many. However based on today’s style of play he’d probably see a lot of dnpcd because he’d be an easy target in pnr and I just don’t see him being very effective if he’s forced to switch. But it’s not like we need him so if he’s fine with those circumstances, why not?

Not sure if your questions been answered yet, but yes if we signed Bynum and it didn’t work out, we could waive him and sign another player for a minimum contract.

The only limitation on a veterans minimum contract is you need an open roster spot. You can cut any player at any time to open up a roster spot (but you still have to pay them and their salary still counts against the cap).

He’d be another expiring tradeable asset. Something else to consider in case we swing for the fences.

I'm all for considering Bynum and giving him a camp invite but I think Zu should get his chance to show what he's improved on and how he's gotten in better shape. He did good with IT in the pick and roll last year. Having Rondo in that role will make anyone look better.

Have Zu and Bynum battle it out during training camp. Zu is the defacto back up because of circumstances but let's let him earn it.

Healthy for a season and playing 15 minutes a game means Bynum >>>> Zu.

Who says no to a camp invite? Probably Bynum LOL. If he can’t get a guaranteed contract, his twigs are likely to snap during practice, so he’ll go with a full guarantee wherever he can get it.

2008 Bynum was so fun to watch .

    What a waste .

Also you never realized how big he was until you saw him play "live"

    He was "huge"

Yeah it would be great if he had anything left of that size and health to make Embiid cry like a little ***** down low. 10 minutes a game against those types of centers that Zu can't handle nor anyone else on our squad since Lopez and Randle left.

Do not want. He was never fully focused on basketball.

And the game has overtaken his style.
