Vet min for a center with bad knees...uh, what's the problem?

He doesn't work out, we can cut him like we did with Bogut last year.

If a better option comes about, we can cut him like Bogut last year.

If he does work out, his length and ability to hit the 3ball with McGee's defensive athleticism in spot minutes puts us at an immediate upgrade to Lopez/Bogut from last year.

Sign me up to signing him up.

Btw, f*** that he doesn't fit today's league... stop imitating what they do and change it up so that teams start to imitate what we do.

So if I understand you correctly it addresses a question I asked a couple days ago about that 15th spot. Which was if we sign him for say Vet Min contract and then physically it turns out he is just shot and we have to release him ..... do we have another minimum kind of exemption or G league player promoted to NBA contract to offer anyone else or we just have the spot available only in trade to take back an additional player?

I'll take him back on a minimum. If he can fit a few 3s here and there while setting screens and outlet passing, why not? He'd basically be a bargain Brook Lopez.

Eff bringing Bynum back because maybe he can shoot 3s now. Am only interested in him being a Big Man with skills force down low on offense and defense. So guys like Embiid and Boogie and Randle can't wreak havoc on us for an entire game as we are SOFT there now that Brook is gone. At least he can match strength for strength and scoring inside for limited minutes in limited situations. IMO.

Bosh would actually be perfect... except that he might just die on the court.

Yeah, between Bynum and Bosh there's no question in my mind. The risk that Bynum's knees may or may not hold up is a much better option to me than Bosh possibly doing a Reggie Lewis. Too scary. Bynum's health issues aren't life threatening and if he can still play at a decent level, once again, he's probably better than everyone else we have at the 5.

It may be the case though why would someone try and rehab a degenerative knee to level of being able to play in the NBA, no team would take them. The things I saw back when he was having trouble in Philly was that he "may" have degeneration and people like Bayless saying he does have it. Anyways, it probably is best we moved on. I was big on him and got a little nostalgic. I don't think anyone will take Bosh unfortunately, no ones' doctors will sign off on the blood clots and he needs a sign off.

No brainer. Bring him in for a workout and see if there’s anything left in the tank. If not, we move on.

Can't hurt for a camp invite, doubt his health issues allow him to play meaningful minutes though.

Yeah. And I'm sure they were at least curious to watch and chat with him a bit. If they feel he could give 10 minutes a game once in awhile to our advantage why not.

His knee injuries were no joke.

Better shape than here at least.

If those knees still hurt that is a lot of running and working out to drop as much weight as he must have put on in the couple years since this pic was taken.

If Embid after all his injuries can play in this NBA I am sure that Bynum would be just fine.

I didn't find that video to be very persuasive. He looks lean, sure. But there is no explosiveness. He barely gets off the ground, and the post moves looked slow as hell.

I always liked Bynum. Seemed smart and dedicated. And he played through injuries to win two rings. But I don't see any way this ends besides a season-ending knee injury by January.

He was actually pretty darn slow when he played for us too. But you can't teach size. If he can get back on D, swallow dudes up on picks, hit the occasional 3, play solid post D, there's a place for him in the league. If you can function and are 7', you can make a million dollars a year SMH. The genetic lottery. It is what it is.
