Brandon Ingram has the ceiling of Dominque, the floor of Devin Ebanks, and the ceiling of Dominique.

"The only players in NBA history to total as many points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks as Brandon Ingram through their Age-20 seasons: Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Tracy McGrady."

And this is why you don't trade Brandon Ingram.

The only thing I hate about these “only player age 20 and under to average so and so” type of comparisons is you can just choose the averages you want to make your point.

I think it was in D’Angelo’s first or second year where there was some sort of combination of stats where only he, Magic Johnson and James Harden has ever averaged a certain combination.

When comparisons like that happen, us Laker homers over value the crap out of our guy. A year later he’s just a guy we attached to salary dump Mozgov.

I’m pretty confident that BI is not gonna be used for a Deng dump. I get your point. As fans we can overvalue our own players. But, at times, we can undervalue them too.

Russell had the skillset of a James Harden, but he didn't do s*** to improve. He may not be a bust but he is a role player for his career. However, the Lakers flipped him for Kyle Kuzma so, it wasn't a loss at all.

Overvaluing players, that is a product of sucking. Laker fans have been seeing nothing but trash for the last 5 years, so any sort of good play looks like potential All-Star value. The fact of the matter is, Russell came into a crappy situation, and he wasnt one of those guys who can get through it. He just didnt improve.

Julius Randle was a role player who played his butt off for a contract. Those types of guys are usually not good for winning basketball. BI was horrid his first year, soft his second year. This year has to be his breakout year. Kuz was a stud other than his rookie mistakes on defense. Lonzo is softer than all of them but his play is very good for team basketball when he did play.

Lonzo will have to get well and play through his hangnail injuries. Otherwise, his a** will lose his job. Love it. Brandon Ingram needs to get to next level improvement. No more 20 games off for the year and no more 4 point games when he plays 35 min. Kuzma will be a star this year. His shooting will be lights out. Hart is a stud and will continue to improve.

So with the addition of LeBron, who brings 15 more wins, are we saying that the Lakers win 62 games this year? I’ll take it.
