He has performed well in Summer League, let's see if his game will translate well into the season. No idea how he dropped to #47, were so many teams turned off by his wingspan?

if his shooting translate during regual season, i think he is better than korver, he attacks hard close out and takes it to the rack...Korver doesnt do that, not even in his younger yrs

4-year college athlete without eye popping athleticism. He also didn't try to stand out in college and was comfortable making the small plays to help his team win games instead of trying to pour in points. Teams really love drafting on potential and there were guys that have higher ceilings that went before him. There's going to be a lot of teams that regret passing on him though.

I saw someone on Twitter say there's a solid chance the Lakers trade Stephenson at some point just because Mykhailiuk will be good enough that we have to give him minutes. I'm hopeful that's true.

...can shoot on the move, shifty enough to create space for his J, can create off the dribble for flips/floaters and a mid-range. Jeff Hornacek 2.0? Bigger doe.

Everyone says Korver, but Hornacek would be amazing. I'd love for either of those to be right though. Both of them were All-Stars. Can you imagine we found an All-Star at #47 in the draft?

I wonder how much of the endorphins of us signing Lebron are spilling over into our evaluations of Svi. :D

Mad props to the young Buss (I think it’s Joey Buss) who’s been the head of the scouting department for the past several years.

They are hitting these late round draft picks at the same rate as Steph curry’s free throw percentage.

Hornacek wasn't fast but they both have that short, compact stroke that looks similar though. Svi has a touch more athleticism. One facet he doesn't have is the ability to drop dimes for others. Svi could end being a very competent 2 off the pine. He likely won't see much time with Stephenson and Hart getting the lion's share of the minutes.

Lance's one season with us may be short if Svi shows enough to move Stephenson by the February deadline. I hope he continues looking this good.

    Possibly...

When it comes to shots, Stephenson will be a wild card on the floor...feast or famine. Svi isn't the defender yet capable of switching efficiently on the perimeter.

Lakers are now at 12 on the roster and an incomplete roster charge need not apply any longer.

Contract on avg is 1.5m per, so assuming its 1-1.5m in year 1, we're looking at roughly 4.8-5.3M in cap space now.

Huge deal for a #47 pick. The Lakers must be in love with this guy.

good work. 3 years and a team option at low cost is wise here. really, any time you have a player you like as a second rounder and cap space, you should opt for this route.

Looking at how the Bonga deal is structured, I'm assuming the Svi deal looks like this:

    Year 1: 1.2m
    Year 2: 1.6m
    Year 3: 1.8m (team option)
    = 4.6m

This would mean that we have 5.1m in cap space still.
