Is it the picture or do Hill’s veins in his legs look like they are about to pop?

A ton of bad turnovers, but showed flashes of very good defense. He had one really nice Euro step finish. He's got tremendous tools, but he'll need time to adjust to the speed.

That's the hard part about moving up in sports. Speed of the game changes significantly and it's hard not to feel lost on it all. He seems like he has real talent though. Just really raw and young.

I missed most of the 1st half for the UFC226 fiasco, but @Weezy and @Cookie said he had some really bad turnovers. I saw a couple.

But I saw some other things that made me think he could really be something.

Yeah, didn't really pay attention to him; seen some of the TO's, but he's definitely a project.

Late in the process I started to really appreciate how solid he was. It was easy watching Duke games to see the pop from Bagley and the shooting of Allen and Trent, but Williams really helped that team by being their rock inside. I'm still taking Ayton over him 20/20 times, but I started cooling on Bagley during the draft process. Jaren Jackson probably should have been 2nd.

i stand by my hot take!!

really, though, i think everybody missed on this guy and that duke hid some of his abilities (or he got overshadowed by a lesser but more exciting player in bagley).

his shotblocking is phenomenal, he has great hands and super quick feet for a guy that big. he has very good touch around the basket and a nice looking jumper. plus he displays some solid court awareness on both ends already--you had to be mindful of where he was at all times.

or maybe i'm just going inappropriately hog wild over summer league performance.

No I get it. He looked like a top 3 pick to me. If the draft was done over again, I think Bagley would slide. The thing is teams tend to fall in love with athleticism and potential, but teams that value intelligence and skill tend to draft better. Bagley frankly isn't that bright and I could easily see him being another Thomas Robinson. Carter seems like his ceiling might not be as high, but his floor is really high.

Something was bugging me about Ayers on our roster. He looked so familiar.

The guy is an NBA player! He started in the NBA in 09/10 with the Blazers, spent two season with Indiana, but at the time was named "Jeff Pendergraph".

He changed his name to "Jeff Ayers" and then played two seasons with the Spurs, was even a spot starter on that team. He last played for the Clippers back in 2016 and now he's on our Summer League team.

No wonder he looks so solid inside! He's 31 years old! He's eligible for Summer League because he's trying to make a comeback and honestly I could see us bringing him in for camp as a practice body. They're bringing him off the bench because I think the Lakers like Johnathan Williams (who is basically a younger version of Ayers) and they already know who Ayers is.

Loved some of the things Moe did yesterday; but his shot selection needs to improve. Otherwise, rebounded well, played some decent defense, ran the floor, etc.

He just needs to keep the game simple.

SVI & Hart - looked good. Those 2 will be some of our best shooters this season provided they both stay on the roster the full season.

I've watched a ton of Summer League game even the ones in the Utah and Sacramento prior to Vegas. JJJ to me through these last 4-5 game has been the most impressive as far as lottery picks. Yesterday's game again the Magic was the first one where he just looked tired, out of rhythm.

...not really geeked up on the Johnson/Pelinka pressers tomorrow. What they will say is stuff we probably know/surmise and the usual cliches. I am looking more forward to tomorrow's game against New York. After a disjointed first game in Cali Classic, there's cohesion and better play. Simon is making the Buechler defection easier to take.
