The FALL!!! Yeah he's lucky to have not broken his neck or severe face trauma. I mentioned it earlier in this thread the first time I saw it. Brutal.

He's a decent athlete, but nothing special. Sort of fits in with a couple other youngsters we've got.

I think he can develop a little more athletically with the training facilities he'll have here, but he's definitely not a leaper.

I'm assuming it's not fully guaranteed and probably in the range of what we would pay for an min rookie deal (838k).

    Hahaha @StashBro

Well it's official: his year 1 contract is 838k which is the absolute rookie min and now have 11 on the roster before we sign Stevenson and McGee to exceptions one we go above the cap. So with only 1 incomplete roster charge, we still got roughly 5.8m in cap to spend (which essentially becomes 6.6m to whoever we sign next with it).

According to a report I saw, perhaps even having a spot on the team. Probably a two way contract.

Caruso and Newman are our 2way players and we're only allowed 2.

Looks like Bonga could be a rotation player for us or trade fodder on a 3 year minimum deal (year 1 @ 838k) with the 2nd and 3rd years likely partially or completely unguaranteed.

Again, we dont need to do any weird gymnastics for Bonga. We drafted him, so he's under contract like any other player on our roster (besides Svi who hasn't signed yet I think).

If he's amiable, he likely spends a ton of time in the G-League developing his body and his jumper.

It must be his mindset coupled with his potential. They said they wanted a certain culture here. Maybe he fits the mindset of hard work and competitiveness they want, but he’s just raw. I think I will reserve judgment until I see him in the summer league.

Born and raised in Germany so I think we can assume that 18 years is correct although hard to believe looking at him.
I didn't think we would bring him over already because he sure does have a lot of things to improve on. Still low risk, high reward.

    Pretty Much my feelings:

His timing wasn't all the way there which is understandable. He hasn't yet practiced with the team either from what I've heard. But at 18 years old a lot of the tools on both sides of the ball are there.

He was clearly drafted on potential and because of his skills at his height and length. Going to take time, if he does work out, but I don’t think it’s a bad risk at all. He looked lost his first game, which is understandable, these other guys have been playing for a week together and he didn’t look like he had even practiced with them once.

He has some terrific tools and actually has a solid feel for the game out there, he was just a bit late. He's going to have to adjust offensively to the next level, but defensively he was making some really nice reads in help situations. His size and length are remarkable for a point guard.

He is 100% worth a shot and I was encouraged by what I saw out there. The turnovers will reduce as he gets up to speed, we might even see that development in Summer League.
