If Vash's Deng dump theory with Atlanta taking him is not correct, wonder if he will be in the G-League or "stashed" overseas as originally mentioned here on LB. Seems like G-League .... or even better .... LaVar's JBA would be the better option. He's the right age and can learn a lot from watching Melo play (who learned from the best, like Luke from his dad Bill) ....if he's on the L.A. Ballers?

Is this their attempt at "Kobe'ing" the pick?

Really bizarre trade to me still.

Was he born in Africa or in Germany? Because if the latter he's 18 and just looks old as hell. If he was born in Africa though, 1980 at best LOL.

Now that's very interesting. They must be wildly high on this kid.

And yes it's very similar to Kobe. They told Bonga and his people not to workout with anyone else and then secured a pick to grab him. Very, very interesting.

    He's 18 like Deng is 33.
Bonga is a project but I dont think we stash him overseas. I'd give him Caruso's 2 way contract.

Definitely! I want our player development's finger prints to be all over him instead of going back oversees where we can't keep a close eye on him. Plus working out of our practice gym and how cool that looks is hard to pass up.

We don't have to get rid of Caruso to get Bonga. We drafted him. So we have him already.

Clearly I don't know what I'm talking about. Regardless I WOULD get rid of Caruso to get Bonga a role on the team, especially after what we saw during the recent Summer League games.

No, we don't have to get rid of Caruso, but we want to.

Maybe @KB24 can chime in on his roots/age, I'm pretty sure we have also other German members who could have some source info.

Kid looks intriguing though that's all I can say at the moment...

I mean, it is entirely possible that he’s 18. Greg Oden was like 19 when drafted and he looked 40 too.

    He does look older.

As for his game--not much of an athlete, but length helps. Great finishes with either hand, which is promising.

Wanted to put this with your footage and need to watch your footage. Here LOL the picking and choosing in first couple of minutes of the edit you'd think this guy was a deep threat and good shooter. Whereas the other clip I think LFR had showed how awful his stroke was. But really intriguing. We can make guys faster and more athletic as well if needed these days. Exhibit A we just let walk in Julius Randle. The guy seriously increased his vertical game and ease of getting into the air. If this kid's 18 he may wind up 6'10" who knows.

It is impressive watching his good plays. Dayam. Can't wait to see him play. Dat length and dose strides in the open court!
