Oh and the Kings have about 25M in cap space (33M if Temple opts out of his 8m option)....

So expect trade ups/downs/sideways, draft day deals, reaches, wtf moments and whatever the rest of the league will do outside of what Sac does draft nite.

    We're 1 week out....

What I've seen is that the rumor about Porter's health is due to his team trying desperately to not get drafted by the Kings. :D

Trevor Lane is rumoring that we've given Huerter a promise at our spot. :Pelinka Double Thumbs Up:

So after teasing/actually rolling my eyes at @abeer3 I'm looking at the trade back scenario.

For me, the only way I trade back from #25 is if DiVincenzo, Huerter, and Robinson are all off the board which is absolutely possible.

If that's the case, I look at Brooklyn again like we did last season. I offer #25 for #29/#40 or #45. Maybe you can get Atlanta to bite on #25 for #30/#34 although I think that's a stretch.

The reasoning is: the players from 30 ~ 45 in my opinion are fairly close if DiVincenzo, Huerter, and Robinson are all gone.

You could end up with a terrific haul of young role players all on minimum contracts. Now it's fair to question how many youngsters we need to have on a team like ours, but what I'm thinking is trying to as close to our minimum contract allowance in order to keep our cap holds lower. I'd feel more comfortable with those spots actually filled with usable assets than just empty spaces.

I'd love to leave this draft with Huerter/DiVincenzo/Robinson and Mykhailiuk in the second.

If not, I'd like to leave with 2-3 of Jacob Evans, Keita Bates-Diop, Brandon McCoy, Gary Trent Jr., Landry Shamet, Omari Spellman, Josh Okogie, Mo Wagner, Tony Carr, and especially Rawle Alkins.

LFR had thought that might be true for a while. Huerter cancelled all of his workouts after his workout here.

If DiVi is there at #25, I think you can offer him to the Nets for #29 and #40 and piss off the Sixers, C Bags, and Warriors who are hoping for him to land there.

Grab Huerter at #29 and maybe someone like Moritz Wagner at #40 (who I was a big fan of during the tourney).

Unless Gabe DeVoe is listed erroneously, this will be his second workout.

    Could be notable.

The C Bags didn't get the pick; but we still finished out the PO's; by Lakers standards, that is "bad." Unless of course you have lowered your standards...wouldn't surprise me if you did...

interesting. so you're a "results over projections" guy? i can respect that. i worry that he's too much thomas robinson/michael beasley hybrid and not enough amare stoudemire/derrick favors hybrid.

yeah, it's just best not to.

melton's been rumored to us at various points, and his scouting report really fits the bill.

i'll be interested to get the truth on huerter two years from now. do the lakers think he's klay thompson or are they gaslighting folks?

Few others will go back and forth with me over topics. :D

I like Melton. I'd take him if we missed on the three I've mentioned. I'm not sure he's more than Patrick Beverley, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you've got another creator with him off the bench.

I don't know that he's Klay Thompson. I think it's more likely he's "just" a shooter, but he's one hell of a shooter.
