I'm with Savory here. If we can get Dame I'd be willing to give up some of our young guys including Ball. Lillard is a killer. Ball has a ways to go to get to that level. If you can improve at the same position that much to go with Lebron and PG13 you do it I believe. Lillard is a legit star right now.

The only way to get LeBron (or George) is through trade.

The Rockets sold their soul to land CP3 and make a run at Golden State this year and it's going to cost them a ridiculous contract on a player that can't stay healthy that will go well into his 30's. Good luck with that, guys.

you have to, though, right? i mean, for the load of meh they traded? they were very close to being nba champions due to that move. and yes, i believe that it involved promising to pay him the max this year (given that he gave up 10 million-ish to opt in, right?).

let's say it's next year, lebron has decided he wants out of houston after having some ill-timed injury issues and we have to only trade deng and a protected 1st or somesuch, but it requires agreeing to give him a max extension, we don't blink, right?

of course we don't. we paid kobe 25 per after he tore his achilles!

I respect them for "shooting their shot", but it was certainly ironic that the biggest concern with acquiring CP3 at this stage of his career is his lack of durability and that's what wound up costing them in the WCF.

Hmm, would Wade be an option off the bench behind PG? He'd play limited minutes anyway, but I could see him working with Kuz really well.

    Hart - Wade - SF - Kuz - C

I think Wade could give you solid bench minutes, but I think he’s pretty close to done as well, and probably wants to end his career in Miami. He left his buddy LeBron and Cleveland mid-season to go back there, it wasn’t working out, I think them being able to help eachother on the court is over.

But if Lebron calls, he'll come a running, especially since Wade's wife is an actress getting to go back to L.

Damn, even their GM taking shots at cupcake (ie "but he earned it")...just an awkward dynamic up in dub territory. That's his legacy now...chasterickion. KD made his bed, now lay in that sheet.

Some fans actually want that dude over Bron....ain't no one softer in the league right now. Truth!

(But if Bron goes up to the Bay...there will be a new queen)

Not sure what it stems from. I heard KD said he is not all about championships. I thought maybe that was an out if he decides to leave. Thought it was strange for him to say.

The biggest take away in this Woj article is that the Spurs won't offer the supermax if Kawhi and his handlers don't sincerely want to remain in SA. They'll have a better feel for that after the sit-down meeting with Pop (which hasn't happened yet).

Not surprised this is coming out after Ramona reporting how management ain't happy with the kiddie wars.

Wow, hold on tight. I felt like we needed assurance that Leonard was healthy before you pull the trigger on this but even the possibility is kind of mind-boggling. Count me in on the Kawhi train for some of our youth if it comes down to it. Of course he has to pass his physical. Hopefully he's on the mend and his relationship with the Spurs is not.

Yeah I thought this was a far fetched concept, but what we're hearing so far makes it seem at least possible. If the Spurs won't offer that max (and in fact won't offer it until he's back in camp and plays a full season??), then he should definitely move on. Demand a trade to LA. If he's healthy, that might be an absolute game changer. I mean we'd probably have to give up Ingram and maybe another kid too (along with Deng), but wow.

It's crazy how any little thing triggers a domino effect....

Stein mentions how many in the league believe George will stay in Okc. Then you got Ramona saying how some in the Laker brass don't like what Zo did. And now this Woj piece on Kawhi.

The tricky part is PG added to the youth vs Kawhi traded for the youth. But if traded, then the cap space remains (cause Kawhi is currently on a cap friendly deal).

If Zo is out and PG remains in OKC, then trading for Kawhi to add to Bron and Cp3 (sorry fam, I know some of y'all hate dude, but someone's gotta replace Zo) might not be such a bad haul this summer.

The injury concerns are scary AF....I know. But that team on paper looks good and is a helluva contingency if PG is a lame and stays in Okc.

I can’t wait for CP3 to agree to a contract with Houston day 1 so I never have to hear his name mentioned with the Lakers again. He’s not going to turn down 40 mil a year from Houston, and we aren’t signing such a ridiculous inuruy risk to an insane max contract.

Trust me, I'm not married to that idea either.

But Cp3 last summer looked to be threatening the cLips by opting out, losing his bird rights and then walking into Houston's cap also sacrificing his max contract amount. If he was threatening to do it last summer, he just might do it again this summer.

I don't want that type of salary on the Lakers for sure, but a S&T into our cap space is an option to him if Kawhi's already here using a package like Zo/Jules (via S&t)/picks.

The point is we have options and contingencies for nearly every scenario. But obviously plan A is the goal.
