I read somewhere that he passed legislation today to let terminally ill people try more extreme forms of treatment.

Agreed completely. Even if you find his orange face detestable, the guy is clearly someone who responds to respect. Go in, say your piece, get what you want. I believe if the NFL players came to him with this sort of respect, this flag drama would be squashed immediately.

I was referencing Meek Mill, who spent time in prison and was released. He was invited, but prominent black celebrities called him and begged him not to go. He decided not to, but IMO, he had insight into the judicial system from a minorities perspective that could've been valuable. So Kim K goes and gets results.

But you bring up a great point: The NFL players. They had a golden opportunity to go in and speak their minds. Show they aren't unpatriotic, but want change and are doing it peacefully. I do think Trump would listen and hopefully real change would take place. If not, at least they can say they tried.

FWIW: Unemployment for blacks and hispanics is currently at the lowest it's been. Ever. Not bad for a "racist" president.

I've always been of the mind that communication is tantamount to success in almost every situation.

I understand the impulse to not speak to Trump, and I don't like him either, but I'd meet with him anyway just to see what his thought process is on some of his opinions. How do you take steps forward by ignoring the opposing point of view? Maybe you can be convinced differently or maybe you can convince the opposition of your opinions.

imo, it's more directed at the NFL owners, but inherently Trump who has obviously spoken out against the kneeling.

while I agree a meeting with Trump would do good towards progression, I also believe that the message the players are sending is still not being heard or addressed. hence, the recent interview with the eagles players who merely responded with prewritten cards. reporters trying to angle questions to get a response, yet he just raises a the same card "YOU ARE NOT LISTENING", followed by boards with statistics.

these players believe in something, they want their voice to be heard, and they want their freedom of speech as well. if far right nationalists and neo-nazi's have the right to freely discriminate in public, raise a flag that once represented slavery and an enemy to the US, and be called "GOOD PEOPLE", so should anybody else including NFL players and the BLM movement, not including the extremists who claim to be BLM or who the right call "antifa". it's an issue when you become silenced and forced patriotism is enacted on you and your message is still not heard.

the root issue is that it's continually being swept under the rug and someone unwilling to listen or change. if that's the case, why would you want to even attempt to sit down with this person after what you read on twitter or have seen on debates calling people name's like a 5 year old child? it'll fall on deaf ears, you words be twisted by the media, then nothing happens.

it's like reading a history book all over again, civil rights protests, Olympians raising their fist in protest, it's unbelievably sad that we've literally gone back 60-70 years of progress to the same images we see today.

The nfl is a private organization, I’m not sure if they have already, but should come up with a rule/policy against all this flag non-sense... or just stop doing the pledge of allegiance all together.

I do enjoy the jabs at fake news, but the inequality of the trade situation has been a head scratcher for a VERY LONG TIME. Unless I can hear an explanation of why this should not be fixed, I think it's great it's being addressed.

The only real enemy is himself... he says things that just make you cringe... coming from someone who voted for him...

Not at all. Republicans are happy. I assume if he threw in some pallets of money and some high ranking terrorist the liberals would be happy too.

Liberals are the skid marks on the tighty whities of society. I really do not see what their purpose is on this planet. Their whole existence is based on b****ing and complaining over everything regardless of the situation.

Trump is hated because he is Trump. Doesn't matter what he does, the spin will be negative. Best thing to do is enjoy the good things that are happening and do the best you can to control your life.
