yes I agree I would like Randle to be resigned, I was asking SF what his plans were with the extra cap room if he's moving randle to dump deng. The only other "star" I'd like to sign if a deng clearing trade like that happens is DMC but with injury and we'd also be short I dont see any other player I can think of this upcoming off-season that we should use the money on (besides randle of course)....I certainly wouldn't use that free'd up money to bring back kcp, lopez, or IT over randle.

Pick is back to 25th overall and can climb to 18 with 2 more losses.

I can only hope Cavs continue the slide. They are close to many other teams in the standing. A few losses and the first might even be close to the Lakers original pick LOL.

Unfortunately, even a medical retirement doesn't get him off our payroll for this summer. I think he can only be cleared from the cap a full year after his last game. Because he played minutes in the season opener, he wouldn't be off our books until next October.

Pick watch: Cavs go to 26 losses and now owe us the 24th overall pick. They are 4 losses away from being in territory that sends us a low lottery pick.

If he were to agree to settle for some amount of less money what would that transaction look like and would it help us at all? Can it help in a trade at all or has to be a buy out and that doesn't help?

Did see him come onto the floor from the bench when the game ended all smiles and happy for the guys and congratulating them.

His buyout would still be treated as getting waived meaning whatever the amount is would be split evenly across 5 years. I believe he's owed about 41 million (36.81 million plus 4.18ish million left this season). Let's say he agreed to a 35 million dollar buyout, we're still paying 7 million a year for 5 years.

If we bought him out in the summer when he's owed 36.81 million for something like 30 million, we're still paying him 6 million a year for 5 years. The reason he's unlikely to do that is that typically players only accept buyouts when they know they'll make up that money on the market. Nobody is paying Deng anything significant so he will be giving up free money which obviously no one would do especially at that high pay grade.

I dont think we have enough asset to dump deng with no money back...best case is to trade him for these 2yr contract guys who 2nd yr isnt guaranteed, i.e. guys like jr smith, Asik, etc. What that does is we can stretch those types over 5yrs as well but at alot smaller cap hit, for example Asik...his 2nd yr is like 1 or 2 mill guaranteed, so we add that 2mill to his 2018 11mill contract n stretch over 5yrs at about 3mill cap. This route also could be done with just a 1st n maybe a 2nd

I think the next 20 games will give us a great indicator of whether or not Lebron is coming to LA. If Lebron intentionally tanks and starts playing like Wesley Johnson, we know he's trying to help his new team get a better pick. If Lebron continues to try, we can safely assume he's going to Houston...right abeer?

Yeah. Abeer and I have been saying this is the most likely scenario. We give up the Cleveland pick and Deng for a contract that has like 10-12 million left on it for one year. I think a 2.5 to 3 million dollar a year stretch gets us REAL close to Randle's cap hold and 66 million for PG/LBJ maximus.

Just out of curiosity, would anyone deal Kuzma with Deng to clear salary for the two maxes and to keep Randle?

I’m not giving up a player like Kuzma for cap space, no way. Unless you have some sort of backdoor guarantee that 2 particular free superstar free agents are going to sign here, you don’t gamble like that. Zubac? Sure, ok, if we have to. First round picks, fine. Thomas Bryant, so be it. No Kuzma, no Hart, just no. Those are players you cannot count on drafting again, and they put up numbers on rookie deals that you’d have to pay other players 10-15 mil to replace.

    No.

I would rather deal the Cavs 2018 pick and our 2020 pick to dump Deng than dump Kuzma who is a proven asset at this point and will continue to get better.
