On the other hand, James and his Cleveland-based people look like they’re up to something … or have millions to throw around on real estate whims, or both.

LeBron’s agent, Rich Paul, just bought a $3 million home in Beverly Hills. Marketing point man Maverick Carter bought one in the Hollywood Hills for $3.5 million. Befitting his status as “The King,” LeBron bought one in Brentwood in December for $23 million.

I agree that no one truly knows. But where would he really go?

When you scope out the landscape, we have the most and healthiest cap structure and can accommodate 2 max players, that no other team can claim to do (we have double the cap space of Philly and we have 20M more than the Bulls). So if he really wants Philly, he has to know that he's heading there alone.

If he wants to go to a team with stars already on the payroll, he needs Gilbert to facilitate a sign & trade to get there. So places like GS and Houston don't make it as practical as some may think, especially if Gilbert will look to "win" any trade that has LaBron heading out.

So I think its a strong bet that its either us or Cleveland and we all know the Gilbert angle is something that should and would play a factor. He leveraged Gilbert cause he could and I'm sure it was his petty way of holding all the power with his time working for Mr. Comic-sans. I doubt he does that to Jeanie and Magic...people that he views favorably.

Now factor in that we could bring him Fitzdale if he wants, we can bring him George if he wants and he's already shown he's got a man crush on Zo. Not to mention that when the Lakers came into Cleveland for the first time he mentioned your guy, Jules, by name.

Now combine that all with us doing Klutch/KCP a solid, while they're buying up property in LA....yeah, I think dude is coming.

Did I mention his wife and mom do not like Gilbert?

His wife and mom are a nonfactor because Lebron hates Gilbert more :D

Yeah I think it boils down to us or Cleveland. And I'm sure Lebron is doing his homework on the Lakers. But I still think it's more likely that he stays if the Cavs can land another star. Maybe not sign a 4-year deal but opt in or another 1+1. As much as he hates Gilbert, that's still his home.

60M in cap space with Bullyius's cap hold and a stretched out Deng. 66M is needed to give Bron and George their true maxes (35.6M and 30.4M respectively). We would be 6M short in offering them their true maxes. But if they each shave roughy 3M off their true maxes, then LA is all set with Jules.

The Mavs can come in with a 18-20M offer and LA can still match it as long as Bron and George agree to fit into that 60M cap space.

I still hope that Mintz doesn't shop for offers for Jules and just gives us a combo package of George and Jules as long as Bron agrees to come on board. That way we still have some cap wiggle to round out the roster with our room exception.

That extra 6 million can come from a Deng/Zubac/Cleveland 1st trade as well. Lakers need to be AGGRESSIVE during the draft for someone to take Deng.

I'm so disgusted with the idea of LLLLL coming here and what it might cost us, that I'm absolutely pissed thinking about even losing Zubac and a first round pick.

That's the kind of divisiveness LLLLL brings to a franchise.

To you maybe, but I'd be ecstatic! A mid-late 1st and a project nets us the best player in the league. How is that divisive?

We're seeing how a penetrating guard is making Zubac highly useful to us as a post presence, and he's getting quality minutes in wins for us. Not garbage time. If Lopez is gone in the offseason, the cupboard is bare on the center front in our roster right now.

So keeping a budding talent like Zubac if we don't bring Lopez back because he gets far better offers elsewhere, and then having the ability for our draft/scout team to draft the next Hart/Kuzma? That is something I'm not walking away from if I don't have to.

If I can sign PG, I'm passing on LLLLL.

If refusing to take a small pay cut so we don't have to make that choice is something you are unwilling to do coming to a new team and after championship roster talent, then that is divisive. Unacceptable.

We all know how LLLLL would feel about that.

Between George and LeBron, George would be the one taking the pay cut. I love George, but he's a worse player on a worse team with not a fraction of the resume nor financial impact.

Zubac has been solid, but he's a backup center. I'm not worried about losing him. Bryant is still here and we'd have plenty of minimum veterans to pick from. I Like Zubac, but picking him over LeBron? C'mon. That's crazy talk.

Yeah. When I said don't lose Randle, I didn't mean so we could sign him and then sign IT instead of Lebron. :D

I still have hope that some team will agree to take on Deng for 2 first rounders and maybe Zu.

Wear can hit the outside shot on the catch at a reasonable clip...cannot create his own off the dribble and non-factor defensively. Likely just practice fodder for now.

FYI for those wanting the Clips' Wallace. Being a 2 way player, you're only allotted a certain amount of games/call-ups per season (I believe its 45 days). He's met that requirement and can no longer suit up for the Clips as a result....unless, they offer him a contract.

However, if they don't then he simply goes to the Clippers G-league affiliate and becomes a restricted free agent this summer. The Clips have his rights and he would have to be waived for the Lakers (or any other team) to have a shot at him.

Also for those that missed it, Shabazz (after being bought out by Minny) is heading to the Bucks. He was a free agent target of ours last summer, but I guess that ship has sailed.
