    Yep ...
I 'd add players this stupid as an early age don't get a lot smarter .

He has played in less than 20 games .

I'm not too mad we gave him away unlike many others .

Ball gets the benefit of the doubt. He actually "hurt" something and he hurt different things on difference occasions.

Russell has missed games on bum knees. "General knee soreness" and "knee tendenitis" aren't exactly minor for a 20 year old who isn't particularly athletic and doesn't put a lot of pressure on the knees shooting outside jumpers. Also take into consideration that Russell has this year again missed like 40 games because of a knee surgery, the same issue again.

His game isn't based on athleticism so it is particularly interesting that his knees are suffering. He just seems to have weak knees. Whether its genetics, workout related or whatever.

Ball for now gets the benefit of the doubt. But it hasn't gone unnoticed that he seems to be soft in that regard and get hurt regularly. Has been hurt in the SL, in the pre-season and in the season. The jury is still out but in a couple of years we will know. At least the injuries aren't all general knee soreness and tendenitis.

^...got hurt (hamstrings) during his collegiate career too. Most notably in the NCAA tourney.

Had a good game last night.

I do wonder at why there aren’t better trainers associated with these teams. These are multimillion dollar investments. Why wouldn’t you want to work on moment mechanics for injury prevention more? Lots of pro athletes have movement pathologies. And then they move in those ways repeatedly and at high speed and high force for a decade through high school and college. They arrive in the nba and break down. No surprise it happens. More surprising no one does much about it.

well, lonzo ball got to the nba with that shooting motion, despite being on the radar early in life. most bigs have no idea how to set screens and roll (so much so that the few who do are super valuable)--something taught to kids who are like, 10.

in other words, if we're not even coaching fundamentals, how can one expect that we'll fine tune body mechanics?

Because most people, including those running teams, are average (at best) at their job and rarely have the desire to improve.

I've watched the ending of the last few Nets games and its like Russ never finishes the games or gets taken out of the game in big situations on defense.

Even against us when BRK needed a 3 to tie the game against us Russell wasn't in the game

The NBA is a business and is about making money. Insurance is required on the players’ contracts for injury, so what you are suggesting is that a business owner truly care about the people (Unionized employees) in their company and spend money beyond the absurd amount they are already being paid.

I don’t see that happening, but if it did, I could see an owner like Cuban doing it.

If anything, the players making millions are the ones who would benefit the most from this. If you were a sports movement pathologist (Dies that exist lol?), maybe you could have an amazing career extending players primed and peak performance by limiting injuries.

Either way, unless the players decide to collectively bargain that, I don’t see owners touching it right now voluntarily.

3 yrs in dude still lazy with his passes, I dont think his passes even lead to much, he just passes if he can't beat his guy for a shot. At this point, Dinwiddie has a better shot at being BK PG of the future. Dlo looks like a high volume scorer n not much else.

Nets fans were enraged at that. This is Atkinson working him back in. I respect the way coach is handling it.

atkinson's a really good coach, imo. and russell's going to have to earn minutes. dinwiddie has. btw, that doesn't mean russell sucks. dinwiddie would have beaten out all of our guards, too.

One of those cherrypicked stats but interesting. From Rotoworld:

“Although, he's been busy off the bench to become the first Net to record 15+ points and five+ assists off the bench in three straight games since Orlando Woolridge in the 1986-87 season.”

He seems to be back to normal.

Its amazing to me how terrible Russell's 3FG% is. He is not a bad shooter but just seems like he can't make threes to save his life right now.

Solid game. 19-5-4 I think. He and Dinwiddie haven’t both been good while on the floor together though.

dinwiddie can ball a bit. unfortunately, his game is similar to russell's. i think he's further along in the developmental curve, too. in truth, really good players figure it out. lillard/mccollum has found a way to work.

Dinwiddie is a better facilitator at this point, for sure. Russ is putting pressure on defenses. They’ll be a decent combo, especially on O.
