A student once told me that. The hurt was deep.

meh, personal responsibility is always involved

If someone is owning their education, they don't make comments like that. That is someone shirking their responsibility and not owning their stuff. Unless you suck as a teacher and everyone in the class had the same problem. And we all know that isn't true.

Not necessarily so. I take the mission of reaching students very seriously. I always think i could do more. And I could.

You could hold their hands and bring them snacks while they do their homework too.

But where do you draw the line? Did you need that? I can admire being hard on yourself, but there are limits to the degree we should be hard on ourselves. You can bring a fish to water, but you can't make them drink. Or something like that. Only you know if it was a legitimate complaint or not, but I have known people in my life that have no problem making manipulative statements like that to people to make them feel sorry for them or to get favors.

We’re not very good at estimating how difficult our struggles have been relative to others’. There's a massive body of literature on this.

But how bout that Kobe guy? I rewatched his last 3:00 and shed a tear.

That last game was just incredible. To me it was his greatest, especially down that stretch. 20 years under his belt, with so many injuries that's he's endured including the achilles and rotator cuff, and to pull out a gem like that? 60 points, come from behind victory with him willing us to win for his career ending moment? Are you kidding me? Unreal. No one will ever top that as a farewell performance.

Greatest ending ever. I almost cried.. But the happiness legit overpowered it. It was something that never happened to me before.

Maybe next time i rewatch the game ill let it all go lol.

Also, he admitted he wanted to quit before the game but he got the very last of his motivation to finish with a bang. Thats what i live for right there ;)

Floyd Mayweather Jr. wants to go 1-on-1 with Kobe Bryant for $1 million
Let’s set aside the publicity aspect for just a minute and look at the absurdity of this.

A 5-foot-8, 40-year-old former boxer has challenged a 6-foot-6 scoring machine who has made a career out of embarrassing every athlete he’s ever faced. This might be the easiest million dollars Kobe has ever earned.

Thanks. What is this .... Floyd thinks he's pretty good? At first I thought he was challenging Kobe to get in the ring for one million.

Does Floyd know he has to put the ball through the basket and you can't just run around the court the whole time?

anyone seen this before? i mean, it was pretty obvious kobe wasn't a fan of lin but i think this pretty much sums it up. don't think the NBA will see a competitor quite like kobe for a very long time, if ever

Wow. Kobe's a d***. [IMG] No wonder Linsanity didn't happen here. Might have to rethink my avatar now.
