    Still think that looks weird. Should have made him pick (he has said 24 meant more because everything was harder) .... and formally acknowledged and retired the other one. Or graphically done it on one jersey. I was wondering what the other Hall of Fame Lakers players were thinking and do think. The L.A. Times letters section is going to kill him for this (which doesn't mean s*** of course but represents how most casual viewers view him but who don't really get what he was about and just how much he gave of himself to accomplish what he did for the wins and his legacy). Kobe's my guy but what happens when the next big Lakers star who is headed to the Hall wants to change his number mid stream?

    if another player sticks with the franchise for 20 year and puts together 2 HOF caliber 10 year periods with different numbers, then you retire both of his numbers as well.We'd be lucky and thrilled for this to set a new precedent that comes up again.

    I like B probably out of those, but I think his classic fade-away jumper will be the statue. Put 8 on the front and 24 on the back of it.
