Coaches have to learn the same as players. Hire a young inexperienced coach and you have to go through growing pains. Luke seems to be learning so I'm good with giving him the space to do so. Time this team is ready he will be too..

I always forget about the def rating, you want that number as low as possible correct? and the Off number, of course, you want that as high as possible.

If the guy could hit a jumper, he'd be my undoubted starter.

Larry definitely banging with Blake and making him work. Kuz would have totally gotten worked.

If you combine the skills, height, length, BBIQ, and best attributes of our current PF’s, you’d have one heck of a player.

In the meanwhile, we’re left with a platoon that I’m sure leaves everyone including the coach slightly dissatisfied on a game by game basis.

Nance is cheap right now. I wouldn't trade him unless it's part of a Deng dump. Otherwise keep him. I like Larry and he's a useful player. He's just not starting material.

He's doing the little things though ... such as making the opponent defensive job a lot easier by not even looking at the basket

He's the only starter that consistently does the small things defensively, hustles for loose balls, and tries to make the best team play. He needs to shoot more, but his energy to start games is wonderful. If/when the team is good again, we're going to need players like Larry. All he needs to do is be more aggressive offensively.

If he was surrounded by 4 players looking to make plays I would agree but Lonzo is another starter who needs to be more aggressive and like it wasn't enough Lopez is getting rid of/shooting the ball like it was a hot potato .

The starting unit is just trash and losing games for us

I wish Lonzo would start every game with the attitude that Nance does. I wish they all did! They all at times have been effective and energetic, but none as consistently as Nance Jr.

Honestly, I think he's still best suited as an energy big man off the bench, but he's contributed more to the starters than people give him credit for. At this point Lopez and Lonzo are the weak links which is upsetting.

He's not a starter. But on this team, he almost has to be so that BLo can eat early and Zo can help set up scoring opportunities for a guy like Nance, who doesn't have it in him to create his own offense. If BLo showed any semblance of his BK self, we wouldn't be in early deficits. Nance is giving that energy early, and then Randle comes in and we don't miss a beat.

JC, Kuz, Randle in that 2nd unit give us the uptempo scoring punch that we need to exploit other team's benches. But more times than naught, they are trying to get us out of a deficit that the starters are making cause they can't seem to hit a shot (BLo missing chippies in the paint or settling for too many open 3s, while Zo has to try to hit at a higher clip).

In theory, you want Zo and BLo to get going earlier with BI on the offensive end, while Nance and KCP clamp down on the opposing team's best post and wing players, respectively. Then our 2nd unit comes in and destroys the opposing reserves. Unfortunately BLo is in a slump and Zo doesn't have a reliant J.

These are growing pains for a young team, but when we do get our stars, Nance heads back to the bench.

I just read somewhere that we are 0-4 since Nance came back. So I wanted to do that math on what our record was with and without Nance this season. So we are 3-9 with Nance playing/starting, and 5-6 without him. Coincidence? Yeah, probably. I’m bored.
