Yeah would that be so hard Luke? Have you forgotten you're down Nance and the 4 is ummm ....Julius's natural position? Might in fact be fun once in awhile to actually play him there when Lopez is in the game and have Kuzma and him stretching the floor for Randle .... ya think? He needs minutes g dammit.

Milwaukee has length like no team in the NBA. Randle historically has struggled with length. It's just not a good match-up for him. I loved his energy though.

He needs to play against it and figure out how to still be successful.

    Barkley was shorter than Randle.

It can be done. Having a weakness exposed is normal. But the great ones shore up those weaknesses. Does Julius desire to become great? Does he have the BBall IQ to figure it out and adjust his game?

We know that answer unfortunately. He ceiling is "very good".

Randle had his issues against Maker, et al with their length but he still managed to have a very productive game at 17 and 9 with over 50% shooting. Actually the pick and roll game between Lonzo and Randle was kind of a revelation last night. I think Luke needs to get his head out of his you know what and insert Randle as a starter for some games and run more of that. It's kind of precisely the type of organized offense that the starting unit needs to do more of.

It's funny, because you can see it transpiring for 10 seconds before the whistle. The whole time, I'm like, "nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo." Whistle. Julius incredulous look.

It's like watching it on repeat 82 times a year.

I'd actually beg to differ. He has been a terrible screen setter. But this year he is setting better screens IMO, but because he's trying to set more, better screens he's getting called for more of them.

Another reason why I think he is setting better screens than in years past is because I think he now understands that by setting better screens it often allows him to get easier buckets which is true of any good screening team or player. Also helps to know that if I set Ball a good screen its more of a chance Randle or Ball himself will be open or pass it back to him.

Well if setting screens is a selfish thing, then why isn't JC the best screen setter on the team?

You know what was frustrating? Seeing Ball/Randle have mixed results in pick and roll. A few of them resulted in perfect buckets. At least one resulted in a ball bouncing off Randle's back when he should have been expecting a pass. Those two should be seeing enough time together when those gaffes wouldn't be happening and they should be able to operate well in the pick and roll. Randle doesn't have to start, but he should still be seeing plenty of minutes with Lonzo.

I have come to the conclusion that Randle is essentially gone. We have zero intentions of resigning him and he will be traded before the deadline if we are offered anything of value for him. There is no other explanation. Playing Kuzma 42 minutes? C'mon. Why not just broadcast that Randle can be had for a future second round pick?

baby steps, i guess? he used to slip every screen long before he had a chance to make contact. now he makes a lot of obvious peripheral contact. maybe one day he'll put that big chest on someone and see how the offense will open up. in truth, some of the dunks he's gotten should already be having such an effect.

A lot of ball watching defensively.

Left Bender open a few times and Luke immediately put Kuz in.

I'm sorry, but Ju just isn't a smart player. All the physical talents and drive in the world, but he's missing that natural basketball feel to the game.
