    Bogut: 1st Pick 2005
    Ball: 2nd Pick 2017
    Ingram: 2nd Pick 2016
    Randle: 7th Pick 2014
    Brewer: 7th pick 2007
    Deng: 7th pick 2004
    KCP: 8th pick 2013
Lopez: 10th pick 2008 (Traded for former #2 pick to get rid of Mozgov-undrafted)

That's a pretty decent collection of lottery picks if you ask me. With our scouting department killing it in the late 1st and early 2nd round picks, it's exciting news all the way around.

What I like about high draft picks is a lifetime of being used to winning from a young age. Hopefully that translates to good things for us with a good mix of veterans along with newbies.

Of course my opinion is biased. Just about every opinion is biased, but you've hunkered down in your position without seeing the merits of what I'm saying. You're staunchly defending a position where Kobe is the good guy and I'm saying this situation has a lot more nuance than that.
I am defending him because he was right:
What about that quote says it's one person's fault or the other? It's a statement that is 100% true. The only thing that kept these two from being more successful was pride.
Again, pretty damn true. This was in 2005 when Bogut was in college. In 2005 could you argue, could Kobe argue, that things didn't have to be his way, didn't have to revolve around him? Kobe was a taskmaster, a jerk, and yes he was absolutely arrogant. Bogut didn't like Kobe, well in 2005 there were plenty of people who'd agree including a lot of Laker fans.

I agree that Kobe should have been more thankful. Bogut would indeed be buying groceries and bowing down because a) he's not as talented and b) he was a punk kid at the time. Kobe shouldn't be getting groceries for anyone, same as Lonzo won't be getting groceries for anyone this year.

What we're arguing is that Bogut was right and if you agree (which you did in this post) that Kobe "messed up" then you agree with Bogut. There's his direct quote ^^ right there. He said he should have been more thankful and he said Kobe was arrogant. Big whoop. Both those things are true. Like I said in a previous post, the only reason you're really defending this is because you know Bogut doesn't (at least didn't) like Kobe. This is where someone calls your baby brother a doofus and you stand up for him even though you know your baby brother is a doofus. That's fine, but again I'm not going to hold on to some silly quote about Kobe from Bogut from over 10 years ago especially when the quote holds merit.
I mean what Larry Nance said was way worse than what Bogut said, but yes he did apologize for having a lapse of judgement when he was a kid. I'd say what Bogut said was far less insulting and honestly doesn't merit apology. I mean if Bogut doesn't like Kobe, what do I care? Plenty of people don't like Kobe. I'm sure Kobe doesn't like Kobe sometimes.

And no worries. I'm mostly just arguing because we haven't had many great discussions lately. The season needs to start now. Not to mention, this is all @tada 's fault for holding a 12 year grudge on a guy.

I'm getting a little tired of this :D.

It seems to me where we really disagree on is IMO Bogut did put the blame for the issues between Kobe and Shaq on Kobe and you seem to believe he didn't. To me it's pretty obvious when you look at the entire quote.

I'm not defending Kobe at all, I'm just saying it's wrong to put all the blame on him. Do you believe it was on him or was Shaq also an immature, arrogant jerk? ;)

If you guys are going to argue stupid things Bogut has said you'll be at this forever. Best to ignore what he says. I remember before he'd even played a game in the league he'd bashed Americans and the lifestyles of those who were about to be his peers. You don't have to be smart to be a pro athlete...

That's been a large part of my point. :D

Why are we worried about what Bogut said... 12 freaking years ago? Before he even played in the league!

I've said since the beginning that it's on both of them! :D

I'm saying there's nothing wrong with the quote though. Everything Bogut said was accurate, it was just a little harsh. I tried to agree to disagree three posts ago!

Magic said Bogut turned down the C Bags and Cavs to join the Lakers. That’s a point in his favor for sure, 2 of my most hated teams.

I think about Cleveland about as much as I think about having syphilis. The only reason why I think about the C Bags is because I want them in the Finals when the 2019 Finals rolls around.

Can’t not thinking about them and still hating them go together? I hate Dan Gilbert because he’s a whiny b**** who cost us Chris Paul and probably ended Kobe’s career 2 years too early. And that’s only one reason.

Magic also said when speaking about Bogut that we were prepared to sign a different big man and then Bogut came in to the picture. He said he and Rob told Luke to decide and we know who he picked. I wonder who the other big we were considering was though.

^^^ Weez: possibly Emeka Okafor? Philly ended up signing him and we all know what the focus was in signing a rim protector. Last in defense, no more! Like Nance said, lets define this next season in one word: GRIT! Lets get grimy and dirty and make defense sexy again!

BTW, I got a man crush on Nance. Its a shame he's off the market now...but congrats nonetheless.

I did not know Okafor was still in the league. So they have 2 Okafors now, huh. And yes, Nance is awesome, I hope he's a Laker for a long time and can only stay healthy.
