Figured it could use its own thread.....for all the bball experts please share thoughts....draftnet has Pj Dozier while draft express has Harry Giles there. Im intrigued by Gile, injury is there but was a top 5 hs ranked player. Reminds me of Skal last yr and how far he fell due to his bad yr at UK. Skal looked good at times once he got his chance. Maybe Giles could be that mobile small ball C we need? Also would like opinion on Dj Wilson, impressive measurements, 6'10 with a 7ft+ wing span that also shoots 37% from 3s

Well, ****. I was posting all this info in the other thread for workouts on or potential number 28 pick, and now I have to copy and paste.

We need defense, I say draft the best defensive player available that can shoot

Why can't we use the other thread to discuss all draft picks?

It can get lost from all the #2 talk. It's easier this way IMO.

There is a lot of different conversation going on in that thread; it's possible, too, but I like this idea.

I say we attach it to Deng and send it to Brooklyn for a protected 2nd rounder.

I like Giles or Diallo. I want a raw new kid with Kobe like athleticism on the bench. He might not amount to anything but we can dream.

I'm leaning more towards trading this pick. Maybe attach Deng to it, take back a shorter bad contract?

Deng/Moz are sunk cost, attaching an asset to dump them this yr is a waste. Do we have any plans to use that $ THIS yr? From Magic comment post lottery it doesnt sound like we're signing anyone to big deals, in favor of 2018. We have our 2019 pick back, i think it will be easy to dump one if not both with only 2 yrs left with that 19' pick attached.

    so anthony brown then?

    :Crazyartest:

i'm down with trading it for future high second rounders, taking a flyer on the best foreign guy available, or using it to divest ourselves of dead weight (if possible--our dead weight is...really heavy).

don't know what to think about 28 now. when mitch and company were at the helm, i would have felt comfortable (i didn't blink when they took nance, for example). the new team is unproven, though.

i've seen adebayo projected near our spot. if people pined for biyombo at 20 per, i think adebayo on a rookie contract should be exciting.

After reading dj wilson info, i can see Robert Horry like traits, i wouldnt mind trading 28th for a 18' lotto protected pick and possibly a mid 2nd rd this yr

If there's an opportunity to do it then you do so even if we are planning on saving money for 2019 free agency. Maybe we could use some of that money on 1+ team option contracts on vets or journey-lottery picks as a try out. We also have a 2019 second round pick from Chicago to play around with too.

I want a defensive big or defensive wing. I'd be happy with Harry Giles, D.J. Wilson or Bam Adebayo. They'll be a ton of good wings to grab in the 2nd round like Jaron Blossomgame, Sindarius Thornwell and L.J. Peak.

I'd freakin love to see this happen. We don't really need to add 2 more young players to this team, one is enough.

Speculating, isn't that what we're doing here?
And I originally said to trade Deng and the pick for a shorter bad contract, maybe that player will be more useful than Deng.
