They're all getting announced on the same night. NBA is having an awards ceremony this year, unlike in the past.

    It will be in June.

I know...... I'm not sure why the league thinks this is a good idea having to wait that long.

    http://www.nba.com/article/2016/11/01/nba-host-first-ever-awards-show-june-2017

The NBA announced today that the first-ever NBA Awards Show will take place in New York City on Monday, June 26, 2017. Televised exclusively by TNT, the show will feature current and former NBA players, coaches and celebrities.

The star-studded event will recognize NBA players, teams, coaches and executives for their accomplishments and performances from the 2016-17 NBA season. The show will feature the announcements of the Kia NBA Most Valuable Player, Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, Kia NBA Sixth Man Award, Kia NBA Most Improved Player and Coach of the Year.

While in previous years these awards were announced separately throughout the postseason, this marks the first time that all recipients will be honored on the same night. Additional awards will be announced at a later date as well as the venue, the host and the list of presenters.

Well thats stupid. How much you want to bet playoff performance will factor into it even if they say otherwise. Thats why I was hoping it would be announced before the playoffs, won't allow the Rockets vs Thunder matchup to skew MVP votes.

I think the MVP, DPOY, All-NBA teams and such were voted on back a few days after the regular season ended. The playoffs play no part in that voting, they're regular season awards, that's why it was silly when people were talking about the OKC/Houston series deciding the MVP, those votes were in before the series started. So unless I'm mistaken, PG's playoff performance can't boost him to an all-NBA team, the voters made that decision before the Cavs series.

Had all but two guys right from my predictions.
Think KAT should have been in it instead of DJ though to be honest.

towns over jordan, paul over derozan. i guess the voters wanted to credit a raptors player because they had a decent season?

who gave lebron, westbrook, and leonard second and third team votes? whilst giving harden a 1st team vote? ridiculous.

can't believe rudy gobert almost got more votes than anthony davis. i'd probably have both towns and m. gasol over gobert and jordan. i think gobert's gotten super overrated.

I think it's wrong that the writers get to decide if PG13 or Heyward are eligible for the Super Max. Several writers have hometown bias and/or ulterior motives. While I don't think PG13 or Heyward deserved to be All NBA this year, I'd hate for $50 million to be riding on the decision making skills of writers.

The players should vote the All NBA team.

what do you have against gobert? or how do you view him as overrated? I'm genuinely curious. I personally think that this year he lived up to all the praise given to him (or maybe its just cuz he helped me win my fantasy bball title)

he's not a very useful offensive player, and he can be taken out of games by more physical players. i'd rather have towns, jordan, m. gasol, jokic, and maybe cousins or even whiteside.

my beef isn't with gobert as good center--it's with gobert almost getting more votes than anthony freaking davis. that's going way overboard on the advanced stats and/or utah's success with and without gobert.
