    I appreciate what Metta did for us in 2010 but the fact he's still on this team shows how laughably bad we have become

    I'd rather have him than some snot nosed rookie occupying the end of the bench. He can stay up to his 20th year if he wants.

    I'd rather have Nwaba take Metta's place. Metta can be a player coach, make half as much money, and cost nothing against the cap to provide the same thing he does now.

    Metta just gave a great little locker room interview, he made fun of his shaky leg too. Said he was trying to get behind the 3 point line to try and end the game but he didn't think he was so his leg started shaking like a dog ahahaha. Black was messing with him from right off camera, looked kinda like MWP was tearing up from laughing so much or something. Good times, Lakers winning, laughs all around, a vintage MWP game.

    Several people, including Luke, are saying this could be Metta's last season in a Lakers uniform.

    We already have 15 players on the roster. Brewer's contract is guaranteed next year, and the 4 bench players who are either non-guaranteed or UFA next season are Ennis, Robinson, Black, and Nwaba. All of whom deserve a chance to prove themselves next season. Unless the FO finds a way to deal away Deng and Moz without taking any contracts back in return (unlikely), it doesn't make sense to fill roster space for a player who's basically an assistant coach in a player's uniform. Hopefully, Metta considers taking a small pay cut (he's already making vet min) to become an assistant coach instead.
