Reading between the lines of this report .... Troy Aikman is not happy Fox Sports hired Skip Bayless Shalise Manza Young,Shutdown Corner 1 hour 42 minutes ago Getting to Know Dak Prescott A closer look at the Cowboys newest QB and why he may be what Dallas has been waiting for. If Fox Sports ever has the occasion to get all of its personalities together, you may need a blowtorch to thaw the ice between one of its most visible employees and one of its newest. Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman has been an analyst for Fox’s NFL broadcasts since 2001, and its lead analyst since 2002. Earlier this year, Fox Sports 1 hired professional hot-take artist Skip Bayless away from ESPN, and Bayless’ new show on the network debuts Tuesday. [NFL Power Rankings: There have been some changes] Sports Illustrated media reporter Richard Deitsch reached out to Aikman to get his opinion on Fox Sports’ hiring of Bayless, and let’s just say, he’s not thrilled. “To say I’m disappointed in the hiring of Skip Bayless would be an enormous understatement,” Aikman said. “Clearly, [Fox Sports president of national networks] Jamie Horowitz and I have a difference of opinion when it comes to building a successful organization. I believe success is achieved by acquiring and developing talented, respected and credible individuals, none of which applies to Skip Bayless.” Aikman has reason to dislike Bayless, personally and professionally: Bayless was a Dallas Morning News columnist during Aikman’s days with the Cowboys, and claimed, without actual proof, that Aikman is gay. (Getty Images) [ Play Yahoo Fantasy Football for free | Mock Draft now | Rankings | Draft Kit ] In a 2015 interview with Deitsch, Aikman talked about Bayless’ claim: “I’m upset about it because it was made up and there was nothing accurate about anything that was insinuated. And he did it, as he does everything, just for attention.” Based on something Deitsch wrote, that Aikman opted to stay with Fox after Bayless was signed (he has several years left on his contract) and something ProFootballTalk tweeted, it sounds as if Aikman gave real thought to leaving Fox in protest after Bayless was hired. He chose to stay, but had he left, it’s unlikely he would have been on the market for long. It doesn’t seem like Aikman and Bayless will cross paths very often, if at all, in their respective roles, but Fox Sports 1 is clearly making a play for ratings by hiring Bayless, and it may have damaged its relationship with one of Fox’s most talented employees in the process. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/t...-fox-sports-hired-skip-bayless-163509940.html
Apparently that's why Aikman is still mad at him. Those rumors were all started by Bayless in his book and Aikman never got over it. Bayless is a pretty crappy person. Anyone can do his job.
I applaud Aikman for taking this stance. The sooner our society can rid itself of cockroaches like Skip and Screaming A Smith, not to mention all the guys on political channels screaming and yelling at each other for the sake of conflict, the sooner our nation can start to heal. All the racial tension and political hatred is partially caused by these obnoxious talking heads. If we could get all of them in one room at the same time, I'll hit the button that fires the M.O.A.B. at it.
So Aikman is/was gay? Not that's there anything wrong about it, SJWs no need for torches, but Troy doth protests too much. If you are straight you Clooney it.
Why doth he protest too much? If some sleaze ball reporter (which Skip certainly is) called you out as being something you were not, wouldn't you be ticked? What if Troy has a girlfriend at the time? She hears that and maybe starts to wonder if she's just for show? I mean, I would have sued the crap out of him.
I wondered why LeBron allowed some company hawking virility / testosterone type product to have his image and name on Yahoo's front page for around a month recently with them saying their stuff was so good that he was "effing" (all the women in Cleveland). Couldn't help himself. Why wouldn't HE sue those guys into oblivion?
